ZIM VS IND MATCH PREDICTION & ANALYSIS After the shock defeat in the first T20I match of the series, India returned to form in style with a 100-run victory over Zimbabwe. This victory was a statement of intent and India are big favourites going into the third match of the series. Just weeks after winning the T20 World Cup, India were surprised by the narrow defeat in the first match of the series.  The youthful line-up appeared to have a lot of learning curve ahead. It was not particularly great news for the Indian cricket team that had just seen stalwarts like Virat Kohli depart the stage. For Zimbabwe, the first victory was a major boost to the confidence but the second game showed that Zimbabwe have to up their game by several notches to have any chance of winning the third and crucial game of the series. Zimbabwe It was a shocking start to the much-anticipated T20 series against Zimbabwe. India certainly came in as the favourites after having just won the World Cup. Yet, a young line-up coupled with a lack of experience led to some poor decision-making in the first game. India were able to rectify most of the issues in the second T20 game. The powerhouse of Abhishek Sharma came to the fore with the 23-year-old grabbing a century off just 47 balls – the third quickest in this format by any Indian. Even though Zimbabwe were guilty of dropping Sharma even before he hit his half century, the 23-year-old never looked back and took a whopping 72 runs from his last 23 balls. Zimbabwe have had little answers to Ravi Bishnoi and his brilliant form. He has picked up six wickets while going for just 24 runs in the two innings. Bishnoi was able to find ways to turn the ball even when there was not a great deal of assistance from the pitch. The 23-year-old was unplayable on some occasions. Washington Sundar might not have been a consistent name in the team but he has come up with three wickets and 34 runs from his two innings. Ravindra Jadeja’s retirement opens up the opportunities for Sundar. India Zimbabwe have proven to be very capable of causing problems for India and the team will head into the third T20 match with confidence. Zimbabwe have been able to enjoy a big impact with their seamers. They have been able to swing the new ball to great effect so far in the series. However, Zimbabwe have been unable to hit the ground running with the bat. Tendai Chatara and Blessing Muzarabani have had five wickets combined. Zimbabwe will once again look to make the most of this situation whether they are batting first or chasing the game. Wessly Madhevere has had the biggest impact for Zimbabwe with the bat and he came close to hitting a half century in the second match. The middle and lower has had very little contribution for Zimbabwe in both matches. The players have had trouble dealing with the Indian spinners. Luke Jongwe came close to providing a respectable score for Zimbabwe in the second match with his 33 runs, but Zimbabwe need a lot more in the upcoming three matches.
