The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will get underway on June 2, as the USA take on Canada in their first-ever World Cup game on home soil. The West Indies are co-hosting the tournament; the first senior men’s ICC tournament held in the Caribbean since the 2010 edition of the T20 World Cup. Defending champions England will also be aiming for a third title, having defeated Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup Final. And what about India? Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have yet another opportunity to break India’s trophy drought. The men in blue last won a major ICC trophy back under MS Dhoni’s leadership – the 2013 Champions Trophy. Australia have the chance to create history. If they lift the title, they will simultaneously hold the 50-over World Cup trophy, the 20-over World Cup title and the World Test Championship crown. Along with hosts USA, Canada and Uganda will make their ICC T20 World Cup debuts in 2024. The tournament will take place throughout June, with the final on June 29. 55 matches will be played in total. Format There are four groups of five teams each. T20 World Cup 2024: Full List Of Venues That Will Host The Matches

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Co will take on Pakistan at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on June 9 in the T20 World Cup 2024. The stadium will host India’s first three Group A games which will be against Ireland, Pakistan and United States. India’s last group game against Canada will take place in Florida, in the Central Broward Park. A major global cricket tournament will be held in the USA for the very first time, while the West Indies will also be hosting a Men’s T20 World Cup for the first time since 2010. The 2024 edition gets underway on June 2. Nine stadiums in the West Indies and three in the USA will host the post-IPL 2024 action. But two of the most well-known stadiums in the Caribbean will not celebrate. Jamaica’s famous Sabina Park will not host a game as it did not bid due to high costs. Increased expenses are also the reason Trinidad’s Queen’s Park Oval – a stadium where Virat Kohli smashed two centuries in 2019 – will not host a game. Instead, the Brian Lara Cricket Academy will take the mantle in Trinidad, hosting one of the semi-finals as well. Guyana’s Providence Stadium will host the other semi, while the 28,000-seater Kensington Oval in Barbados will host the final on June 29. Full list of stadiums: West Indies: 1. Rohit Sharma Repeats “Garden Mein” Taunt, Mumbai Indians Star Gives Priceless Response. Watch

Having crashed out of the IPL 2024 playoffs race, five-time champions Mumbai Indians are playing for pride as they take on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens on Saturday. MI’s season has been overshadowed by the controversial decision to replace Rohit Sharma with Hardik Pandya as the captain of the franchise. Rohit, who led MI to five IPL titles during his tenure, was removed as captain by the franchise after Hardik rejoined the side from Gujarat Titans (GT). However, the decision to remove Rohit sparked a huge uproar among the cricketing fraternity. Despite all of this, Rohit continues to give everything on and off the field. From helping Hardik in captaincy to grooming the young players, Rohit has managed to keep the dressing room together. Most importantly, Rohit’s camaraderie with the youngsters makes him stand out amongst his peers. In one such light hearted, Rohit was seen roasting MI and India youngster Tilak Varma. In a video uploaded by MI, Rohit poked fun at Tilak, who was wearing sliders on the eve of the match against KKR at Eden Gardens. During the Test series against England earlier this year, Rohit had caught the attention of the fans on social media with his “Garden me ghumega” one-liner. Rohit recreated the same moment with Tilak, who came up with a hilarious response to catch the MI icon off guard. “Aye hero, kya kar raha hai bhai? Chappal mein ghum raha hai, garden me aaya hai kya? (Aye hero, what are you doing? Wearing sliders, are you wandering in a garden?),” Rohit said in a video uploaded by MI. “Hai na bhaiya, Eden Gardens (Yes, it’s Eden Gardens!),” Tilak responded. Rohit Sharma "Won't Be At Mumbai Indians...Imagine Him Open At...": Pace Legend's Massive Prediction

Rohit Sharma “Won’t Be At Mumbai Indians…Imagine Him Open At…”: Pace Legend’s Massive Prediction

With Rohit Sharma stay at Mumbai Indians next IPL season? That is one big question that is on everyone’s mind. Mumbai Indians are already out of the IPL 2024 play-off race there is little to look forward to this season. Ahead of the next season, there is the mega auction where teams will see massive change. Pakistan pace legend Wasim Akram, who was earlier associated with Kolkata Knight Riders, in coaching capacity feels that Rohit will not play for MI next year. Since the time Rohit Sharma was removed from MI captaincy, he and Hardik Pandya have been in the news. “I have a feeling, he won’t be at Mumbai Indians next season. I would love to see him at KKR. Imagine him open there, Gauti as a mentor, Iyer as a captain. They will have a very strong batting, at that wicket (Eden Gardens). He bats very well on any wicket, he is that great a player. But it will be good to see him at KKR,” Said Wasim Akram. Akram also praised KKR’s good show in the IPL 2024. The team currently leads the points table. “This was Gautam Gambhir’s KKR and will remain his KKR. He sits off the field and talks to the players. But once the game is on, it is under the captain. Their captain has also done well and also scored runs at different positions. He (Iyer) knows that Gautam is there to take care of things.” Rohit Sharma is a sensible captain who takes good decisions under pressure and his presence will be crucial for India, feels former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who wishes to see his “close friend” win the elusive T20 World Cup next month. Besides reaching the final of the 50-over World Cup and the WTC Final last year, India made the semifinals of the 2022 T20 World Cup under Rohit’s captaincy. The opener is set to lead the ‘Men in Blue’ once again at the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean and USA, starting on June 2. “(Rohit’s presence is going to be) very crucial. I think we need a really good captain, a sensible captain who takes decisions well under pressure. And he’s the one to take them,” Yuvraj, who is the T20 World Cup 2024 ambassador, told ICC. The World Cup 2023 final loss to Australia saw India’s quest for an ICC title stretch to 10 years with their last victory dating back to the Champions Trophy in 2013 under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Yuvraj feels India needs someone with Rohit’s expertise to lead the Indian team at the marquee event. “He was the captain when we lost in the (Cricket World Cup) 50-over final (in 2023). He has won five IPL trophies as a captain. I think we need somebody like him to captain India.”

"Rohit Sharma Spoke To Me...": Kuldeep Yadav On Captain's Role In Improving His Batting

“Rohit Sharma Spoke To Me…”: Kuldeep Yadav On Captain’s Role In Improving His Batting

New Delhi : Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav said that skipper Rohit Sharma helped him improve his batting skills during the five-match Test series against England at home from January to March this year. Kuldeep was speaking at a press event in Delhi ahead of his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise’s Delhi Capitals (DC) game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. In India’s 4-1 triumph over England at home, Kuldeep had a very valuable role to play, not only with the ball as expected, but surprisingly with the bat as well. Not only he took 19 wickets in four games, including a five-wicket haul, but he also scored 97 runs in six innings at an average of 19.40, with the best score of 30. He would often find himself in situations that could make or break the match for India. With a solid defence, he would hold his end steady and allow the other batter to attack in pursuit of match-saving total or a match-winning target. Also, during his side’s IPL game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on May 29, Kuldeep scored a valuable 35* in 26 balls with five fours and a six, taking his team to a respectable total of 153/9. Though DC lost the game, Kuldeep top-scored for his side and added another feather to his growing reputation as a capable batter. Speaking at the event, Kuldeep said Rohit does not talk much to him regarding his bowling because he is delivering at his role. However, Rohit was concerned about his batting and helped him get better at it by speaking about the nuances of the discipline during nets. “Rohit bhai does not talk to me much about bowling because I am doing what he wants from me with the ball,” Kuldeep said. “He was concerned about my batting. He told me to improve my batting. I worked on it during the Test series against England [at home earlier this year] and he was impressed by my hard work. He used to be with me in the nets and speak to me about the nuances of batting. This helped me a lot and now I am enjoying my batting as much as my bowling,” said Kuldeep. Coming to the IPL, DC will be taking on RR at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday. Delhi (10 points) is in the sixth position in the season with five wins, and six losses. RR is at the second spot, with eight wins and two losses, giving them 16 points. DC lost their previous match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by seven wickets, while RR lost theirs to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Delhi Capitals Squad:Prithvi Shaw, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abishek Porel, Shai Hope, Rishabh Pant(w/c), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Rasikh Dar Salam, Lizaad Williams, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar, Sumit Kumar, Praveen Dubey, Kumar Kushagra, Ricky Bhui, Ishant Sharma, David Warner, Gulbadin Naib, Jhye Richardson, Anrich Nortje, Lalit Yadav, Yash Dhull, Vicky Ostwal, Swastik Chikara Rajasthan Royals Squad:Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson(w/c), Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, Rovman Powell, Shimron Hetmyer, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Sandeep Sharma, Jos Buttler, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Shubham Dubey, Navdeep Saini, Tanush Kotian, Keshav Maharaj, Nandre Burger, Kuldeep Sen, Donovan Ferreira, Abid Mushtaq, Kunal Singh Rathore. Hardik Pandya Roars Back To Form With Best Display Of IPL 2024. Rohit Sharma Does This

Hardik Pandya struck form before the T20 World Cup while veteran Piyush Chawla also bagged three wickets as Mumbai Indians restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad for a below-par 173/8 in their IPL tie here on Monday. Pandya found rhythm and momentum to return 4-0-31-3 while Chawla (4-0-33-3) produced an impactful performance to trouble the SRH batters. This was Pandya’s fourth best bowling figures in the IPL. Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was a happy man seeing the progress of his NO. 1 all rounder. To add to Pandya’s joy, MI won the match by 7 wickets with Suryakumar Yadav scoring an unbeaten ton. In complete contrast to last time these teams met earlier in this IPL when SRH hammered 277/3, their usually free-flowing batters struggled for momentum and lack of initiative meant they could never really trouble the Mumbai bowlers. The batters struggled on a two-paced surface and and MI were quick enough to capitalise. The powerplay had yielded 56 runs for the visitors without any damage but lack of initiative and regular fall of wickets stemmed the flow of runs. Coming on to bowl only in the second half of the innings, Chawla made the biggest impact with key wickets of Travis Head (48) and Heinrich Klaasen (2) to put Mumbai Indians in complete control. Head, who rode his luck throughout his stay in the middle, could not make the most of it. With two inside edges for boundaries at the start, SRH’s premier batter appeared to be struggling for timing and rhythm. In the fourth over, on 24, Head made room to smack MI debutant Ankush Kamboj and lost his off-stump in the process but that was when he got his first lifeline as the bowler was found to have overstepped. Head got another life when Nuwan Thushara spilled a regulation chance at deep third man when the opener was on 44 in the eighth over, but by then, SRH’s decline had already begun. Bumrah had got Abhishek Sharma (11 off 16 balls) caught behind and Mayank Agarwal (5) had become the Kamboj’s first victim. Nitish Kumar Reddy (20) was bounced out by Pandya, who also snaffled the wicket of Shahbaz Ahmed (10) later on to mark a complete flop show with the bat for SRH.

"You Don't Want To Play And Not Perform": Ex India Star's Firm Take On Rohit Sharma's IPL 2024 Form

“You Don’t Want To Play And Not Perform”: Ex India Star’s Firm Take On Rohit Sharma’s IPL 2024 Form

Rohit Sharma hasn’t been in best form in IPL 2024© BCCI/Sportzpics With the Mumbai Indians’ campaign almost done and dusted in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, there’s little motivation for players to continue giving their best. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, etc. are all established stars but haven’t been able to lift the Mumbai Indians’ campaign this season. As there remains the threat of their performances going down further, with MI unlikely to qualify for playoffs, former India cricketer Deep Dasgupta feels there’s still ‘pride’ to play for. Urging Rohit to not take his foot off the gas, Dasgupta urged the veteran opening batter to think of the forthcoming assignments and end the IPL campaign on a high. “You are playing for the pride of the team, you are playing as a professional cricketer and you are playing for your pride as well. You don’t want to play a game and not want to perform. Everytime you cross the line, you want to do your best,” Dasgupta told Star Sports. Dasgupta also feels next year’s IPL mega auction could be a key motivating factor for Rohit to do well. With Hardik now leading the franchise, it has been suggested by many that Rohit could decide to leave the franchise after the season. “Let’s not forget that next year is the big auction. This is the last few opportunities that all the professional cricketers have. Even if the team is not going to qualify, at least to put up a good show and tell everyone, ‘You know what, I am there’,” Dasgupta said. Dasgupta also feels that it’s important for Rohit to continue performing, keeping in mind his next assignment, which is the T20 World Cup 2024 with the Indian team. “He is such an integral part of the team since he is the captain, but he sets the tone as well at the top of the order. That’s what he has been doing for the last year and a half,” he added.

Shivam Dube was a surprise inclusion in the squad after the all-rounder impressed both fans and experts with his explosive batting for Chennai Super Kings. Virat Kohli Gets Massage From Faf Du Plessis, Fan’s ‘Backbenchers’ Reference Breaks Internet. Watch

A video of Virat Kohli dancing while entering a room has taken the internet by storm.© X (Twitter) All eyes will be on Virat Kohli as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) take on Gujarat Titans (GT) in a do or die match in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday. Both teams had also met last weekend with Kohli’s RCB beating Shubman Gill’s GT in a one-sided encounter in Ahmedabad. Kohli, who has been under the scanner for his strike-rate, hit an unbeaten 70 off 44 balls, but it was Will Jacks who stole the show with his unbeaten 100 off just 41 balls. Jacks had scored his first 50 in 31 balls, but took just 10 balls to breach triple figures. Ahead of their return leg against GT, Kohli and some of the RCB players attended an event. However, a video of Kohli dancing while entering the room has taken the internet by storm. In the viral video, Kohli was seen dancing with RCB skipper Faf du Plessis giving him a shoulder massage. When backbenchers are entering in class but teacher is already there pic.twitter.com/gDpM3LGKXe — Ayush Singh (@imabhinashS) May 3, 2024 Kohli has been in red-hot form in the ongoing IPL. He is currently the second highest run-getter in the tournament with 500 runs in 10 matches. He only trails CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad by nine runs in the Orange Cap list. Kohli’s form in remainder of the tournament will not be crucial for RCB, but also Team India as he has been selected in the 15-man squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. BCCI chief selectors Ajit Agarkar recently opened up on the debate surrounding Kohli’s strike-rate. “We haven’t been discussing Kohli’s strike-rate. There is a difference between IPL and international cricket. You need experience. We have got enough balance and power in the team. You look and try take positives from what is happening in IPL. Pressure of a World Cup game is different,” Ajit Agarkar played down Virat Kohli strike-rate criticism. There have been a debate whether Kohli should open the batting during the T20 World Cup. Addressing the talks, India captain Rohit neither confirmed or denied the same. “All the options are open. We haven’t decided yet, there is no guarantee and we will go there to the West Indies and depending on the conditions we will decide the playing XI,” Rohit said during a press conference.
