Mukesh Kumar took 3/14 in the last match and he is a strong choice for Delhi Capitals’ top wicket taker on Saturday.Travis Head struck 102 runs from 41 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the last game and the Australian opener is our pick for Sunrisers Hyderabad’s highest run scorer in this game. Pat Cummins has nine wickets in the tournament so far and we are backing him to be Sunrisers Hyderabad’s top wicket taker against Delhi Capitals. After hitting seven more sixes in Match 30 to take his season’s tally to 24, we recommend selecting Heinrich Klaasen to hit the most sixes in this clash. Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips, IPL 2024 Delhi Capitals go head to head with Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday evening in Match 35 of the 2024 Indian Premier League. The Capitals had a poor start to the tournament but thrashed Gujarat Titans in their last match. Sunrisers are in fourth place with four wins from six. Read on as we preview this clash which gets underway at 19:30 local time at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi on April 20th. Coming into this game after back to back wins, Delhi Capitals will be confident of making it three in a row and there is a youthful freshness to the side. However, they will be up against one of the best batting line-ups in the tournament in this game and it will be a very tough contest. Sunrisers Hyderabad have assembled a side full of aggressive batters and due to the impact player option, they are able to pack their line-up with big hitters. Although they have lost two matches so far, they will travel to Delhi full of confidence after posting a record-breaking 287/3 in their last game. Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Match Toss PredictionOf the 84 IPL matches to have taken place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, 46 have been won by the team fielding first. Therefore, our prediction is that both sides will choose to bowl first if they win the toss ahead of this game. Delhi Capitals vs Sunrisers Hyderabad Pitch ReportThis is the first game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the 2024 IPL so there will be a little bit of unknown about exactly how the pitch will play. However, we can expect to see a pitch with plenty of pace and carry which should encourage the stroke-makers in both batting line-ups. Get to Know Who will win Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings, IPL 2024 Match and toss Prediction with Head to Head stats, Playing 11, CBTFJSK Tips, Live score, Win Probability & winning percentage. 𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 : Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 : Apr 19, 2024𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 : 19:30 IST / 14:00 GMT𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐄 : Ekana Cricket Stadium – Lucknow, India𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 : IPL 2024 Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings Betting Tips KL Rahul is a big game player and even though he has not been in great form, can be backed to top score for LSG. One of the reasons why we are backing Rahul is that he can be very handy against CSK spinners in the middle overs and play through the innings. Shamar Joseph had a bad debut against DC and will be eyeing a strong return. He has pace and variations to trouble CSK so he is our pick for top bowler. For CSK, Shivam Dube has been on a six hitting spree. He has already hit 15 sixes this season. Back him to hit more than 1.5 sixes in the match. Matheesha Pathirana is fresh from a four wicket haul against MI. Pathirana is a good pick for CSK top bowler. The wicket in Lucknow has been slow and scoring boundaries has been tough. The total fours in the match should be less than 30.5 while total sixes should be over 12.5. Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings TV channels: The fans can watch the match live on Hotstar Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the FAFA191 Cricket Exchange India and website. Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips, IPL 2024 Lucknow Super Giants will take on Chennai Super Kings in the 34th match of the IPL 2024. The game will be played at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow and will start at 7:30 PM IST on April 19. Lucknow Super Giants have lost the previous two games which makes the coming game against CSK very important. LSG haven’t been at their best so far. While teams have managed to score 200+ score consistently this season, LSG have mostly scored around the 160 run mark. Not sure that would be enough against CSK.  The concern for LSG has been their batting as barring Nicholas Pooran, others have been ordinary, including KL Rahul. The bowlers though have done well. Meanwhile, CSK picked up a thrilling win over MI at the Wankhede Stadium. The team is placed third on the points table with four wins and two defeats. Ruturaj Gaikwad’s return to  form is a great news for the team while Shivam Dube has been mighty consistent. MS Dhoni has also turned back the clock and struck lusty blows in final overs. However, lack of runs from Rachin Ravindra is a concern. The bowling from CSK has been top notch and the conditions in Lucknow will suit the visitors.      Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings Match Toss PredictionEkana Stadium is not a very easy ground to chase and most captains have preferred to bat here and post a score of around 170-180. Lucknow Super Giants vs Chennai Super Kings Pitch ReportThe pitch at the Ekana Stadium is slightly on the slower side. The ball does not come on nicely and batters often struggle for timing. A score of around 170-180 is slightly above par here. Lucknow Weather ReportThe temperature will range between 41 and 26 degrees. The humidity will be 27 per cent and the wind speed will be 27 kmph. MS Dhoni mania takes over South Africa: Dale Steyn wants CSK star to keep playing IPL

Former South Africa pace bowler Dale Steyn suggests that the fervor surrounding MS Dhoni extends beyond the Indian Premier League (IPL), surpassing the cricketing landscape of South Africa and captivating enthusiasts like himself. Steyn is in awe of Dhoni’s batting and said that watching the former CSK captain out in the field lifts his mood. Notably, Dhoni continues to be a crowd-favorite in the Indian Premier League, and at 42, he is still turning back the clock to demonstrate his six-hitting skills. Dhoni’s job has altered this season because he is no longer captain, but on the pitch, he remains the one who controls the game for the Super Kings. The legendary skipper has decided to bat lower down the order to give young players an opportunity as the franchise enters a transitional period. Despite this, Dhoni has still managed to make an impression with the bat this season. However, the speculations are rife that the ongoing season will be Dhoni’s last in the IPL as he also handed over the captaincy charge to Ruturaj Gaikwad this year. Steyn also said that he wants MS Dhoni to continue playing the Indian Premier League. IPL 2024 Full Coverage | IPL 2024 Points Table and Standings | 2024 IPL Full Schedule “Not only has it engulfed the IPL. That’s engulfed many South Africa and myself, to be honest with you, I don’t watch a lot of TV, but I seem to be glued to the seat when the IPL is on my girlfriend says that my TV is broken, it’s stuck on cricket right now IPL and watching MS the other night. That’s exactly what we want to do. You know, I’ve been on the receiving end of it before. I’ve watched it from a fan’s point of view, I loved it. I mean, I am a much better mood because of what I’ve just seen. So can we get more of MS Dhoni out in the middle? That would be great,” Dale Steyn said while speaking on Star Sports ahead of the MI vs PBKS match. Dhoni’s biggest issue this year has been his struggle with a knee ailment. The renowned wicketkeeper-batsman has been observed limping on multiple occasions this season, and he also had knee surgery following last season’s IPL. Recently, CSK bowling consultant Eric Simmons confessed Dhoni has been fighting with his knee ailment, but he has battled it heroically and without displaying any pain. Punjab Kings made a late comeback while chasing a 193-run target but Mumbai avoided a late scare to return to the winning ways at Mullanpur’s Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. Suryakumar Yadav smashed 78 runs off 53 balls to help Mumbai post 192 total while batting first and pacers Gerald Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah took early wickets to stumble Punjab to 14 for 4. NEW DELHI: Former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma engaged in a humorous conversation with teammate Romario Shepherd in the MI’s dressing room, where images of the 2007 T20 World Cup final adorned the walls. That was the time when Indian captain Rohit burst onto the international arena. Upon seeing the images, the West Indian all-rounder Shepherd joyfully teased him by saying “Young Ro”.“Small Boy, No Beard. I was struggling to get beard,” Rohit replied.“How old were you there?” Romario asked. “I was twenty”, Rohit answered. In six matches this IPL season so far, Rohit has scored 261 runs at an average of 52.20 and a strike rate of over 167, with a century.Rohit was at his vintage best in the match against CSK, scoring 105* in 63 balls but MI fell short by 20 runs. Watch: Match referee Javagal Srinath and umpire Nitin Menon explain ‘Smart Replay System’ in IPL | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Javagal Srinath, former Indian cricketer and current match referee for the Indian Premier League (IPL), has hailed the introduction of the innovative ‘Smart Replay System‘ as a game-changer, emphasizing its significant impact on speeding up match proceedings.“Literally we are saving 8-9 minutes per innings. Which is sometimes almost 20 minutes per game,” Srinath remarked, highlighting the efficiency brought about by the new technology.IPL 2024: POINTS TABLE | ORANGE CAP | PURPLE CAPOne of the key issues the system addresses is the contentious decision-making around waist-height full tosses.Srinath explained how the Smart Replay System has provided a solution to this long-standing challenge, enhancing both speed and accuracy in umpiring decisions.Contrary to concerns about technology overshadowing umpires, umpire Nitin Menon emphasized that the system does not render umpires redundant. “Technology is not stopping the umpires from making decisions. They still have to make the decisions,” Menon affirmed, underlining the continued importance of umpires in the decision-making process.WATCH: The Smart Replay System, implemented in the ongoing IPL season, operates by providing TV umpires with direct inputs from two operators of the Hawk-Eye system. These operators, stationed in the same room as the TV umpire, utilize images captured from eight high-speed cameras strategically positioned around the ground. One notable change brought about by the new system is the elimination of the TV broadcast director’s role as a mediator between the umpire and the Hawk-Eye operators. Instead, the TV umpire now directly interacts with the operators, streamlining the decision-making process.Furthermore, the Smart Replay System allows the TV umpire to analyze a wider range of visuals, including split-screen images. Live broadcasts of the TV umpire’s interactions with the Hawk-Eye operators provide viewers with transparent insights into the decision-making process. The enhanced system enables umpires to make more informed decisions, particularly in scenarios such as judging catches near boundary ropes, determining caught behind, leg-before, stumping, or low catches taken inches off the turf. With clearer visuals from multiple angles, the Smart Replay System promises to elevate the standard of umpiring in the IPL and beyond.(With inputs from PTI)

IPL 2024, KKR vs RR: Shreyas Iyer fined Rs 12 lakh for over-rate offence

The IPL organisers fined Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate during their last-ball thriller against Rajasthan at Eden Gardens on Tuesday. Iyer has copped the penalty for the team’s first over-rate offence of the IPL 2024 season. “As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to a minimum over-rate offences, Iyer was fined Rs 12 lakhs,” the IPL said in a release. The IPL 2024 match between KKR and RR ended at around 11:35 pm, well past the scheduled finish time. The hot and humid conditions in Kolkata on Tuesday evening did not make it easy and both teams took time because of the thrilling nature of RR’s chase. Jos Buttler battled cramps to hit a match-winning hundred, which is being dubbed as one of the greatest in IPL history. It was not easy for Shreyas Iyer to marshal his troops as Jos Buttler’s threat remained even as the England opener did not fire from the word go. However, Buttler switched to 6th gear in the end overs, single-handedly helping RR chase down 48 runs in the last 3 overs. Buttler remained unbeaten on 107 off 60 balls as RR equalled their own record for the highest-successful chase in IPL history, gunning down 224. IPL 2024 Full Coverage | IPL 2024 Points Table and Standings | 2024 IPL Full Schedule Sunil Narine’s maiden IPL hundred and his heroics with the ball went in vain for the Knight Riders, who missed out on an opportunity to top the IPL 2024 points table. WHAT IS THE OPTIMUM OVER RATE? “The minimum over rate to be achieved in IPL Matches shall be 14 overs per hour (ignoring the time taken by time-outs). In uninterrupted matches, this means that the 20th over should finish within 90 minutes (being 85 minutes of playing time plus 5 minutes of time-out) of the start of the innings. For delayed or interrupted matches where an innings is scheduled to be less than 20 overs, the maximum time of 90 minutes shall be reduced by 4 minutes 15 seconds for every over by which the innings is reduced,” according to the rulebook of the IPL. Notably, Delhi captain Rishabh Pant was fined Rs 24 lakh earlier in the month for two successive over-rate offences. The rest of his teammates were also fined 25 percent of their match fee. Pant is in danger of facing a one-match ban as captains are penalised with a ban for a 3rd over-rate offence in a season. Published By: Akshay Ramesh Published On: Apr 17, 2024 Tune In

‘Please stop wearing that shirt immediately’: AB de Villiers asks RCB’s ‘bad omen’ | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Former South African and Royal Challengers Bengaluru cricketer AB de Villiers has requested former New Zealand and Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Scott Styris to stop wearing the RCB jersey. The Bengaluru-based franchise has been struggling in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, with only two points from seven games, placing them at the bottom of the table. Styris, who has been seen sporting the RCB jersey on match days, is now considered a bad omen for the team. In response to Styris’ post, De Villiers commented, “Please stop wearing that shirt immediately!!!!” Styris, however, has thrown down the gauntlet to De Villiers, declaring that he will stop wearing the RCB shirt for the team’s upcoming matches if the South African legend agrees to wear a Chennai Super Kings shirt once. The former New Zealand all-rounder stated, “I said I would wear the shirt. It has been a bad omen. I am a bad mascot for RCB, which is pleasing from my perspective. So I am prepared to put out a challenge back to AB de Villiers because he says it’s time for me to stop wearing the shirt. I will stop wearing the shirt for RCB matches moving forward if De Villiers wears the CSK shirt once. He is coming back for The Insiders (Jio Cinema’s programme) for the last week of the playoffs.” Former England captain Eoin Morgan, who was part of the show, agreed with Styris that the counter-challenge to De Villiers was ‘fair’.RCB’s latest setback came against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who set a new IPL record for the highest total, amassing 287-3 on Monday. The match also witnessed the highest aggregate for a T20 game, with a combined total of 549 runs. Hardik Pandya: Hardik Pandya’s inclusion in T20 World Cup squad depends on IPL bowling performance: Report | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: India captain Rohit Sharma recently held a meeting with head coach Rahul Dravid and chief selector Ajit Agarkar in Mumbai during the ongoing IPL 2024 season, according to a media report. The primary agenda of the meeting, which took place at the BCCI headquarters, was to discuss the squad composition for the upcoming T20 World Cup.According to a report by The Indian Express, a crucial decision was made regarding Hardik Pandya‘s inclusion in the team. The trio decided that bowling regularly during the IPL 2024 will be key to Pandya’s chances of making the cut in the squad.IPL 2024: POINTS TABLE | ORANGE CAP | PURPLE CAPThe meeting focused significantly on the selection of fast bowling all-rounders for the T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by the USA and Caribbean islands in June. However, the selectors face a challenge due to the limited quality options available. Despite this, they are closely monitoring Shivam Dube, who has been impressive with the bat but has only been utilized as an Impact Player by his franchise, Chennai Super Kings, due to their abundant bowling resources. Hardik Pandya, who is also leading the Mumbai Indians this season, has been struggling with his bowling form. In six games, he has bowled 11 overs, taking three wickets but conceding runs at an alarming economy rate of 12 per over. The Indian team management hopes that Pandya can find his rhythm, as his seam bowling adds balance to the playing XI, and his powerful hitting provides depth to the batting lineup.Reports suggest that the Indian selection committee is set to meet later this month to finalize the squad for the T20 World Cup, with the performance of the hopefuls in the ongoing IPL expected to play a significant role in their decision-making process.

IPL 2024: Dinesh Karthik’s 83 not enough as SRH’s 287 too good for RCB

Dinesh Karthik’s heroic effort was not enough for RCB as SRH secured a 25-run win over the hosts in the IPL 2024 run-fest in Bengaluru on Monday. Over 500 runs were scored, but Hyderabad managed to squeeze in a superb win over RCB. RCB managed to reach 262 but still fell 25 runs short of SRH’s record-breaking 287 for 3 in the match. With this batting effort RCB also the first team to score over 250 when chasing in an IPL match. It was their 2nd-highest total in the IPL and 5th-highest total in the tournament history. In what could easily be regarded as one of the finest display of batting in a T20 encounter, close to 550 runs were amassed in this match, precisely 549. However, despite witnessing an astounding total, Hyderabad emerged victorious, boasting an insurmountable lead. This fixture not only saw an unprecedented scoring spree but also shattered numerous records, officially securing its place as the highest-scoring T20 game ever recorded. With a staggering count of 79 boundaries, comprising 43 fours and 36 sixes, the sheer magnitude of this achievement is almost unfathomable. IPL 2024 Full Coverage | IPL 2024 Points Table and Standings | 2024 IPL Full Schedule Bengaluru suffered their sixth loss in seven games and remains rooted at the bottom of the table but this shows how underwhelming they have been with the ball. The batters gave it their all but 288 to get in 120 legal deliveries is almost unthinkable. Both Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis started aggressively and got a plethora of boundaries away but Kohli got out for 42, after which Faf went on a rampage, but the next three batters that came in couldn’t even get into double figures. Faf du Plessis eventually got out on 62, after which Dinesh Karthik took matters into his hands and just about kept Bengaluru with a 1 percent chance of a win. He made a sensational 83 off 35 balls but got out in the 19th over and even Anuj Rawat’s little cameo in the final over wasn’t nearly enough to get them that crucial win. Defending a massive total of 287 runs, Hyderabad couldn’t pick up a wicket in the Powerplay and were a bit unlucky with the edges and ended up conceding 79 runs. It was then Mayank Markande who knocked over Virat Kohli right after the Powerplay and then skipper Pat Cummins got a couple of quick wickets to hand Hyderabad the advantage. With 5 wickets already in the bag, the visitors couldn’t capitalize and seemed nervous in the death overs. Cummins did provide one more breakthrough but they kept conceding boundaries at an alarming rate and it was T Natarajan who finally got DK in the penultimate over that sealed the game. Overall, not the best bowling performance but there were some positives, especially the way Cummins bowled. HEAD POWERS SRH TO 287 Travis Head’s blistering century powered SRH to a staggering 287 for three against a struggling RCB in their IPL 2024 encounter. This marked a new record, surpassing their previous high of 277 against MI earlier in the season. Head led from the front with a scintillating 102 off just 41 deliveries, marking his maiden T20 hundred. He formed crucial partnerships, first putting on 108 runs with Abhishek Sharma (34 off 22 balls) and then adding 57 with Heinrich Klaasen, who blazed his way to 67 off 31 balls. The left-handed Head’s batting style may lack elegance, but his sheer effectiveness was evident as he relentlessly punished the RCB bowlers. His approach was simple yet devastating: anything in his hitting zone was dispatched with authority. Even the introduction of debutant Lockie Ferguson failed to stem the flow of runs, with Head taking a particular liking to his bowling. Ferguson’s first over was forgettable, conceding 18 runs as Head unleashed his power with disdain. Despite losing Head after his hundred, Hyderabad’s onslaught continued unabated, with Klaasen taking over the role of aggressor. The South African hammered the spinners, including a brutal assault on Mahipal Lomror, yielding 18 runs in a single over. Hyderabad’s assault culminated in a monumental total, with Aiden Markram’s single off Vysakh Vijayakumar marking the historic moment as they surpassed their own record total. Hyderabad, as habitual to begin on a flier, started off exactly in the same way. After examining the pitch for the first over, the dual southpaw duo opened the floodgates from the get-go, going aggressively against the Bengaluru bowlers. Travis Head was the real aggressor as he timed the ball to perfection. It seemed like the ball was just effortlessly springing off his bat into the stands. Hyderabad boosted to 100 for no loss in just 7.1 overs. Abhishek Sharma too, didn’t stay quiet for long and joined the party before getting dismissed on a well-supported 34. The Aussie southpaw however looked in no mood to calm down and went on to notch up a sensational 102 before getting out. But, the damage continued as Heinrich Klaasen joined the party and smashed a 23-ball half-century and kept inflating the scoring rate with glorious strokes. After his departure, Abdul Samad further compounded the damage as he struck a quickfire 37 off a 10-ball cameo. Aiden Markram too didn’t sit back and further helped his team to surpass the 277 mark, a record that they set just a few games ago. Records shattered left, right, and center, bowlers left reeling with absolute helplessness, and once again, it’s the team clad in orange and black that has showcased unrelenting ruthlessness with the bat. Indeed, Hyderabad has developed a habit of toppling records remarkably. Picture this – 22 monstrous sixes along with 19 boundaries. It is the second-highest team total in the history of all T20s and the highest total in the history of the Indian T20 League. It tells you a story, the kind of nightmare the Hyderabad batters have wreaked on this already struggling Bengaluru bowling attack. Published By: Saurabh Kumar…
