Teams batting first have had the edge at Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, with most matches in the MP T20 League 2025 ending in their favor.

  • Prithviraj Singh Tomar and Shivam Shukla are our picks for Rewa Jaguars’s players to watch out for in this match.
  • A high-scoring match is on the cards, and a total under 200 could be hard to defend.
  • Indore’s Akshat Raghuwanshi has been the season’s top run-getter and the team’s chances in this game depend a lot on his performance.

After winning the ODI series 2-1, SA Women are gearing up for yet another series win against the hosts in T20Is. WI Women will play against them at Three Ws Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados on 22nd June from 11:30 pm onwards. WI Women now have four losses in a row in T20Is.

In the first T20I, SA scored 183 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. ODI series’ leading run scorer Tanzim Brits scored an unbeaten 98 runs off just 63 balls. Jahzara Claxton picked up three wickets for the WI Women. Put in to bat first, South Africa faced early setbacks as skipper Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp fell cheaply to Claxton within the first five overs. Despite the shaky start, they managed 44 for 2 at the end of the powerplay. But from there, Tazmin Brits and Nadine de Klerk shifted gears. The duo stitched together a quickfire 71-run stand for the third wicket in just over six overs, with Brits doing most of the damage, smashing 42 of those runs in an aggressive counterattack.

Chasing 184, West Indies came out with intent and scored briskly, putting up 47 in the powerplayβ€”better than South Africa’s start. But the runs came at a cost. They lost wickets in clusters, including the crucial one of skipper Hayley Matthews, and by the eighth over, they were already five down and in deep trouble. Chinelle Henry and Zaida James Glasgow tried to revive the innings with a spirited 81-run partnership for the sixth wicket, but the damage had already been done. The chase had slipped too far out of reach, and their late fight wasn’t enough to change the outcome. WI Women lost the game by 50 runs.

West Indies Women Preview

Heyley Matthews will open the innings with Qiana Joseph. Matthews was the leading run scorer (177) for West Indies women in the T20I series against England. She has 392 runs in the last 9 T20Is at a strike rate of 136.71. She has been outstanding with the ball, too, taking 8 wickets. She will be the player to watch out for. Joseph has scored 201 runs in the last 9 T20Is at a strike rate of 145. Realeanna Grimmond will come at number three. She has played just 4 T20Is so far, scoring 73 runs at a strike rate of 65.17.

Shemaine Campbelle will come in the middle with Chinelle Henry, Shabika Gajnabi, and Jannillea Glasgow. In 19 T20Is against South Africa, Campbelle has 157 runs at an average of 15. Chinelle Henry and Zaida James Glasgow tried to revive the innings with a spirited 81-run partnership for the sixth wicket in the last game. The WI Women’s middle order is a big concern for the hosts as they have a strike rate of less than 100.

Afy Fletcher will lead the bowling attack with Jahzara Claxton, Aaliyah Alleyne, and Karishma Ramharack. Fletcher has 9 wickets in the last 10 T20Is at an economy of 8.23. Claxton picked up three wickets in the first game. Ramharack has been able to pick up three wickets (in one T20I) in five games against SA Women. With no bowler bowling at an economy below 6, WI Women will find it difficult to win the next game.

South Africa Women Preview

Skipper Laura Wolvaardt will open the innings with Tazmin Brits. Wolvaardt has scored 278 runs in the last 9 T20Is at a strike rate of 134. She averages 50 against the WI Women in 11 games. Brits will be the batter to watch out for. She scored an unbeaten 98 runs in the first T20I. This came after she finished the ODI series as the leading run-scorer. She has 300 runs in the last 9 T20Is. Marizanne Kapp will come in at number three. Her record against WI Women with the bat is average, scoring 292 runs in 18 innings. But she has picked up 12 wickets against them so far.

Nadine de Klerk will come in the middle with Miane Smit, Chloe Tryon, and Annerie Dercksen. Klerk scored 21 runs in the first game and picked up 1 wicket. Tryon’s strike rate in T20Is is 133, while she has an economy of 6.8 with the ball. All eyes will be on Annerie Dercksen after she had a fruitful series in Sri Lanka. Derckson was the leading run-scorer for SA with 276 runs at an average of 92. She smashed a century and two half-centuries in four games.

Nonkululeko Mlaba will lead the bowling attack with Ayabonga Khaka, de Klerk, and Kapp. Mlaba has 13 wickets in the last 9 T20Is at an economy of 6.14. She will be the bowler to watch out for. De Klerk also has 9 wickets in the last 10 T20Is at an economy of 7. Overall, SA Women has a better bowling unit compared to WI Women.

Weather Conditions

The weather at Barbados is expected to be cloudy on match day, with temperatures ranging between 26 and 31 degrees Celsius. Winds will blow from the southeast at 10-26 km/h. It is a bowling-friendly pitch. It is a paradise for both batters and bowlers as it offers balance in all innings. The wind will help the pacers swing the ball.
