West Indies slam 257 runs against Australia in T20 World Cup warm-up, win by 35 runs – India TV

Image Source : GETTY Australia vs West Indies Rain has played a massive role in the T20 World Cup warm-up matches so far in the USA and the West Indies. However, when the Caribbean side locked horns against Australia on May 31 (Friday) at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain in Trinidad, it rained sixes. A total of 479 runs were scored in 40 overs with only 11 wickets falling while 31 maximums were hit. After being invited to bat first, Shai Hope got out eary but batting at three, Nicholas Pooran teed off right from the word go smacking 75 runs off just 25 deliveries in the 90-run partnership with Johnson Charles. The left-hander smashed five fours and eight sixes during his stay in the middle. The carnage didn’t stop as skipper Rovman Powell also showed off his hitting skills scoring 52 runs off 25 balls before getting out to Tim David. Australia continued to play with nine players much like they did against Namibia with their coach and chief selector taking the field. Their bowling attack expectedly suffered with even the likes of Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood and Nathan Ellis being taken away for a lot of runs. In fact, Zampa suffered the most conceding 62 runs in his four-over spell while Hazlewood and Ashton Agar also went for 55 and 58 runs respectively in their four overs. Apart from Pooran and Powell, Sherfane Rutherford also batted well for the Caribbean side amassing 47 runs off just 18 balls with four fours and as many sixes to his name. Thanks to these powerful performances, West Indies posted 257 runs in their 20 overs.  In response, Australia started off at a brisk pace reaching 60 runs in less than five overs but lost their top three batters in the process. Josh Inglis was the only batter with the substantial contribution in the big chase as he scored 55 runs while Nathan Ellis played a fighting knock down the order mustering 39 runs off 22 balls. With only nine players, they couldn’t chase down the mammoth target but reached 222 runs in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets. The Aussies will be happy with the way they fought but the West Indies will be delighted to see their players hit the straps ahead of the T20 World Cup.

Pakistan U19 vs Japan U19, ACCU19AC, Today Match Prediction

𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 : Pakistan U19 vs Japan U19𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 : December 04 ,Wednesday𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 :10:30 PM IST𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐄 : ICC Academy Dubai, دبي, United Arab Emirates𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 : ACC U19 Asia Cup, 2024 Pak U-19 look to continue their dominance in the tournament Pakistan U19 vs Japan U19 TV channels: The fans can watch the match live on Hotstar Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the FAFA191 Cricket Exchange India and website. PAKU19 vs JPNU19 Match Prediction & Analysis The Dubai International Cricket Stadium awaits in readiness to host the upcoming 11th fixture of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2024 between Japan U-19 and Pakistan U-19. The Group A fixture is expected to kick off at 10:30 AM IST. Given what the two teams have managed to achieve in recent teams, the contest does appear to be very one-sided on paper. Moreover, this will also be the first encounter between the two teams in the YODI format. Head to Head Record: Japan U-19 and Pakistan U-19 have never faced each other in the YODI format as a result, no past data about their previous matches is available. Current Standings: Both Japan U-19 and Pakistan U-19 are at two opposite ends of the spectrum in Group A points table. Japan U-19 have faced defeats in all their two games and are languishing at the bottom of the points table with no wins to their name. On the flip side, Pakistan U-19 are currently the top-most ranked team and have acquired the numero uno position by convincingly brushing UAe U-19 aside. TEAMS PREVIEW Pakistan U19 Preview Pakistan U-19 are coming off on the back of an impressive 69-run win against UAE U-19. Moreover, a convincing 43-run win against arch-rivals India U-19 in the opener has really set the wheels in motion for the young Green Shirts. Their berth in the semi-final round has been more or less booked and they will be looking forward to securing an easy win against Japan U-19 to consolidate their position at the top. Shahzaib and Riaz Ullah registered a record 183-run stand for the second wicket to lift Pakistan to a commanding first-innings score of 324. The duo stamped their authority on the UAE bowlers and belted them all around the park. Shahzaib was the pick of the batters and top-scored for his side by slamming 132 (136) whereas his partner in crime also piled up a century (106 off 91) in very quick time. Their bowlers did the rest as Abdul Subhan recorded career-best YODI figures of 6-57 to derail UAE U-19 off course and leave them 70 runs short of their desired target. Japan U19 Preview It has been a tournament to forget for Japan U-19. The young underperforming team was simply overwhelmed whilst competing with some of the best in the business. UAE U-19 and India U-19 were all over them and lost to them by massive margins of 273 runs and 211 runs respectively. Besides, their quest for a consolation win against a red-hot Pakistan U-19 side will not be a cakewalk by any means. They were no match against a resilient India U-19 side in their last game. The India U-19 were able to thrive on some very ordinary bowling from the Japan U-19 bowlers. Hugo Kelly was the only bowler to return with very impressive figures of 2-42 in 8 overs as India went on to pile a record 339 in their fifty overs. A target of 340 was never going to be an easy ask as Japan U-19 folded for 128 after facing their full fifty overs with Kelly (50 off 111) and Hinze (35 off 68) being the pick of the batters Weather Conditions There is no risk of rain and the day will be warm and bright throughout. While the daytime temperature would range from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius, we can anticipate moderate humidity levels of about 42%. PAKU19 vs JPNU19 Pitch Report When the introduction of the new ball, the pitch at DICS may provide the fast bowlers a hint of seam movement and spongy bounce. Because the team batting last has historically experienced greater success than teams batting first, batting is typically much easier in the second innings.  Toss: To Bat Four of the five matches played at this venue have been won by teams batting first and chasing totals has been difficult, given the recent results, we back the team winning the toss will opt to bat first.  Our Toss Prediction – Japan U-19 to Win the toss

'Tendulkar, Dravid and Ganguly were never dropped because...': Virender Sehwag's stern message for under-fire Shubman Gill | Cricket News

‘Tendulkar, Dravid and Ganguly were never dropped because…’: Virender Sehwag’s stern message for under-fire Shubman Gill | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Star Indian batter Shubman Gill, the captain of Gujarat Titans, has experienced a fluctuating performance in the ongoing IPL 2024 season. Despite a promising beginning, the star opener has struggled to maintain his form in recent matches, with his last significant score of 50+ runs occurring on April 10 against Rajasthan Royals. Since then, Gill has been dismissed for single-digit scores on three occasions. The young opener was also overlooked for the T20 World Cup squad, although he was included in the four-man reserves list alongside Rinku Singh, Avesh Khan, and Khaleel Ahmed. In Gujarat Titans’ recent encounter against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Saturday, Gill’s struggles continued as he managed only 2 runs off seven deliveries. However, former India opener Virender Sehwag expressed his support for Gill, believing that the young talent will bounce back stronger. Sehwag also offered guidance to Gill during this challenging phase, drawing from his own experiences and referencing legendary batsmen such as Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and VVS Laxman while discussing Gill’s lack of run-scoring in detail.“I think he’s lucky that his name is in the T20 World Cup reserves. KL Rahul and Ruturaj Gaikwad are not even in that. That’s a good point and he should be motivated by that. Next time, he should not let his place go once he gets a chance. He should focus on scoring runs at a good strike-rate so he doesn’t get replaced,” Sehwag told Cricbuzz.“In my days, we had Ganguly, Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman. It doesn’t matter how many runs the other guys scored, these guys didn’t go out because they never stopped scoring runs. How will you drop them if they keep scoring runs? They never gave a reason to get dropped. This is what Shubman Gill has to learn. Once he returns to the Indian team and plays regularly post the World Cup, he shouldn’t let such an opportunity arise again. Improve your skills and score big, because big scores will eventually save you,” Sehwag further said. The Titans’ recent loss to RCB further compounds their struggles in IPL 2024, as they now find themselves languishing at the ninth spot in the table. With just four wins from 11 games, the team led by Gill faces an uphill battle to turn their fortunes around and mount a comeback in the season.Under Gill’s leadership, the Titans, who were champions in 2022 and runners-up last year under Hardik Pandya, have failed to replicate their past successes. Their current position offers little hope of securing a playoff berth unless they manage to pull off a remarkable turnaround in their remaining matches. One of the glaring weaknesses for the Titans has been their performance during the Powerplay, particularly with the bat. Scoring only 23 runs in the Powerplay against RCB, they posted the lowest Powerplay total of any team this season.Further analysis reveals that the Titans’ Powerplay run-rate of 7.54 and strike-rate of 118.43 are the lowest among all teams in IPL 2024. Additionally, they have scored the fewest runs in the first six overs throughout the season, tallying just 469 runs.Addressing their underwhelming performance in the Powerplay will be crucial for the Titans if they are to salvage their season and make a late push for a playoff spot in IPL 2024.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans, IPL 2024 match 52 – India TV

Image Source : BCCI/IPL RCB players against SRH in the IPL 2024 on April 25, 2024 RCB vs GT Pitch Report: Royal Challengers Bengaluru will be seeking their third successive win for the first time in the IPL 2024 when they take on inconsistent Gujarat Titans in the 52nd match of the season at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday. Faf du Plessis chased down a 201-run target with nine wickets and 24 balls remaining against Gujarat Titans in their last game to avoid an early elimination from the playoff race. Both teams are now set to face off each other in the reverse fixture with two very crucial points up for the grabs. With six losses in ten games, Shubman Gill’s Gujarat slipped to eighth position in the points table and now face a tough job to make playoffs for the third consecutive season. Gujarat still remain in contention to secure playoff qualification but need to produce their best performance at M Chinnaswamy’s tricky surface for a playoff boost. M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru Pitch Report Bengaluru’s M Chinnawamsy Stadium offers a balanced surface in T20 cricket. Fans witnessed a run-fest in the last game played at this venue with Sunrisers Hyderabad posting a record-breaking total of 287 and then RCB replaying with 262. 'Parting Ways With Rohit Sharma And...': Ex-India Star On 2 Players Mumbai Indians Might Release

‘Parting Ways With Rohit Sharma And…’: Ex-India Star On 2 Players Mumbai Indians Might Release

Aakash Chopra feels Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan might not play for MI next season.© BCCI Former India batter Aakash Chopra feels star batter Rohit Sharma and young wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan might not play for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the next season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). There has been an uncertainity over Rohit’s future at MI ever since he was relieved of his captaincy duties by franchise. MI appointed Hardik as captain for IPL 2024 but the five-time champions endured a disastrous season, finishing at the bottom of the 10-team points table. Sharing his views on MI’s possible strategy for IPL 2025 mega auction, Chopra suggested that Rohit might’ve played his last game for the franchise. He also added that keeper-batter Kishan might be released by the team due to his price tag. However, he suggested that MI might use the ‘Right to Match’ card on Kishan if needed. “I think they will let Ishan Kishan go. They might use the ‘Right to Match’ card because 15.5 crores is just too much money. I don’t think Ishan will be retained,” the ex India cricketer said on his YouTube channel. “I think Rohit Sharma has played his last match for the Mumbai Indians, whether he doesn’t want to be retained or the franchise lets him go,” he added. “Either way, I see them parting ways. I don’t think you will be seeing Rohit Sharma in the Mumbai Indians jersey again. That’s just my understanding. I might be wrong but I feel, either which way, Rohit Sharma will not be playing for the Mumbai Indians when you start the next season,” he further explained. The next assignment for Rohit will be to lead the Indian cricket team in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. India will face Ireland in their tournament opener on June 5. Hardik’s inclusion in the squad was a matter of discussion among experts but the selectors decided to show trust in the all-rounder as he was appointed the vice-captain.
