India eye unassailable lead in third women’s T20I against Bangladesh

A dominant India will have sights set on an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series when they take on a hosts Bangladesh in the third women’s T20 International here on Thursday. Having done exceedingly well to not just to turn up but trump their opponents on all fronts in the preceding two matches, India will enter the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium with aim to follow the same script. The bowling unit has been functioning cohesively, having restricted Bangladesh to modest totals with spinners Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, and Shreyanka Patil being economical. In the pace department, Renuka Singh Thakur has starred with the ball in the opener while Pooja Vastrakar has also been handy. Dayalan Hemalatha, making her return to international cricket after an absence of nearly 17 months, displayed her explosive batting during the powerplay in the last game, crafting an unbeaten 24-ball 41. The likes of Shafali Verma, Yastika Bhatia, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Richa Ghosh have got runs under their belt. However, star opener Smriti Mandhana would hope to find form. India have relied on a collective team effort throughout this series and they will be seeking more of the same in the remaining games. The series assumes more importance as the T20 World Cup is to be held in Bangladesh later this year. The hosts, on the other hand, will seek improvement in all three fronts. Their batters have not been able to get big totals, while the bowlers also haven’t enjoyed good outing and the fielding has also been found wanting. Squads: India: Smriti Mandhana, Dayalan Hemalatha, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Deepti Sharma, S Sajana, Shafali Verma, Shreyanka Patil, Amanjot Kaur, Pooja Vastrakar, Asha Sobhana, Yastika Bhatia (wk), Richa Ghosh, Radha Yadav, Renuka Singh Thakur, Titas Sadhu, Saika Ishaque. Bangladesh: Murshida Khatun, Rubya Haider, Sobhana Mostary, Shorna Akter, Shorifa Khatun, Nigar Sultana (c&wk), Dilara Akter, Nahida Akter, Sultana Khatun, Ritu Moni, Rabeya Khan, Fahima Khatun, Marufa Akter, Fariha Trisna, Habiba Islam. Match starts 3:30pm IST.

Scotland vs Australia, AUS vs SCOT 2024, Today Match Prediction

𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 : Scotland vs Australia𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 : Sep 06, Friday𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 : 18:30 PM IST𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐄 : Grange Cricket Ground, Edinburgh, United Kingdom𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 : 2nd T20i 2024 Scotland are yet to beat Australia in T20Is. Scotland vs Australia TV channels: The fans can watch the match live on Hotstar Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the FAFA191 Cricket Exchange India and website. SCT vs AUS Match Prediction & Analysis Australia absolutely annihilated Scotland in the first T20I in Edinburgh to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The home side started out with good intent, but eventually couldn’t put up a tall enough score to challenge the Aussies. They will need to play out of their skins to get past this strong Aussie outfit. Otherwise, Australia are overwhelming favorites to make it 2-0 after this game.  TEAMS PREVIEW Scotland Preview Scotland started the first T20I on a positive note. At one stage, they were 101-3 inside 12 overs. However, their middle order faltered, and they ended up with an under-par score of 156-9.  Australia Preview Australia kicked off their white-ball tour of the UK in devastating style, trouncing Scotland by seven wickets in the first of three T20Is in Edinburgh on Wednesday. Travis Head’s blistering 25-ball 80 steered Australia to a swift victory, as they easily chased down a modest 155-run target in just 9.4 overs on a flat Edinburgh wicket. Weather Conditions The wicket at the Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh is a batter’s paradise. The new ball bowlers will get some movement off the seam in the first couple of overs. But after that, batters can just settle in and smack the ball to all corners of the ground. Spinners will need bowl tight lines to keep the run flow in check. The pitch will slow down a little in the middle phase of the innings. Edinburgh will see sunny intervals and a moderate breeze throughout the day. We should get a full match. SCT vs AUS Pitch Report The average first innings score at the Grange Cricket Club is 175. The highest total posted at the venue is New Zealand’s mammoth 254/5 versus Scotland in 2022. If Australia bats first in this match, they might get close to that score. Scotland will need to score at least 200 runs and above to challenge this Australian batting unit.

MATCH: England vs Sri LankaDATE: Oct 26, 2023TIME:14:00 IST / 8:30 GMTVENUE: M Chinnaswamy Stadium – Bengaluru, India TOURNAMENT: Cricket World Cup ENG vs SL Betting Tips Joe Root was livid with himself after being caught at leg-slip to an obvious plan against the bowling of Marco Jansen on Saturday. For such a well-organised batter, who usually places his shots with real thought, it was a big surprise but fortunately he has plenty of ODI runs to fall back upon from his career. He has already made scores of 77 and 82 in this tournament and we are backing Root to be England’s highest run scorer against Sri Lanka. Adil Rashid has picked up 6 wickets from the last three games and he will have watched the performance of Adam Zampa at this ground against Pakistan with interest. As a fellow leg-spinner, Rashid will be looking to emulate Zampa’s 4-wicket haul and he is our tip for England’s top wicket taker in this fixture.Although he had a top score of only 24 from his opening nine ODI innings, Pathum Nissanka has matured into a fine batter for Sri Lanka and now averages 38.09 from 44 innings in this format. In this year alone, he has hit 985 runs from 24 ODI innings with his runs coming at an average of 44.77 with two hundreds and eight half-centuries. The 25 year old is our pick for Sri Lanka’s highest run scorer against England. Dilshan Madushanka has been Sri Lanka’s top wicket taker in all four of their games in the tournament and he added another four dismissals to his tally against the Netherlands. With some of England’s players struggling for form, he could pick up another large haul in this clash. Madushanka is a strong choice for Sri Lanka’s top wicket taker in this game.England need to step up with their place in the tournament under threat. In those circumstances, we expect to see Joe Root make over 31.5 runs on Thursday. England vs Sri Lanka TV channels: The fans can watch the match live on Euro Sports Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the K9WIn Cricket Exchange India and website. ENG vs SL ODI Match Prediction & Betting Tips, Cricket World Cup 2023 Match 25 of the 2023 Cricket World Cup sees two of the bottom three sides go head to head as England take on Sri Lanka in Bengaluru. It is fair to say that England’s defence of the trophy which they won in 2019 is not going to plan as they have won only one match from four and come into this game off the back of defeats against Afghanistan by 69 runs and South Africa by 229 runs. Sri Lanka lost to South Africa, Pakistan and Australia before finally getting their first win of the tournament with a 5 wicket triumph over the Netherlands on Saturday. Read on as we preview this day-night match. The game gets underway at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium at 14:00 local time. England have been very disappointing in the tournament and have now lost Reece Topley who was their best bowler in the last game. Their players were drained by the conditions at the Wankhede Stadium but they should find them more bearable in Bengaluru. Sri Lanka finally got their first win of the campaign on Saturday and even though the win was against the Netherlands, it shouldn’t be dismissed as the men in orange had just beaten South Africa. There should be enough batting quality for Sri Lanka to give England a tough match. ENG vs SL Match Toss PredictionAustralia batted first at this venue last week and went on to record a 62 run victory so we predict that both sides will want to bat first in this match. ENG vs SL Pitch ReportThis is a good batting wicket with pace in the surface and a very quick outfield. There will also be bounce and turn for the spin bowlers at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. Bengaluru Weather ReportThe forecast is for warm conditions throughout the match with the temperature between 27 and 32 degrees. Humidity is not expected to be an issue with the level not rising above 40%. Read on for team previews, betting tips, latest odds, and match prediction for England vs Sri Lanka, World Cup 2023

T20 World Cup to stream and broadcast with sign language, audio description

This aerial photo taken on May 1, 2024 shows the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Eisenhower Park in East Meadow, New York, ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. | Photo Credit: AFP In a first for Indian sports streaming, the ICC Men’s T20 cricket World Cup will be streamed with Hindi audio description and Indian Sign Language (ISL) for visually and hearing impaired viewers, Disney+ Hotstar, the streaming service with the rights to stream the tournament this year announced on Wednesday. Reports peg the tournament’s media value between ₹1,600–2,000 crore.  “Being the first OTT platform to introduce this feature for live cricket, we are democratizing the game … and have made this feature available for 10 matches, including India matches, semifinals and finals during the tournament,” Sajith Sivanandan, head of Disney+ Hotstar told The Hindu in response to an emailed questionnaire.  Also read | ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2024: full schedule, dates and venues While the ISL interpretation of commentary is new for streaming, Disney had streamed some matches of the Indian Premier League with a Hindi descriptive track in 2022. JioCinema, which owns the rights to the franchise now, does not have closed captioning, ISL interpretation or a descriptive audio track in any language. The ICC men’s ODI World Cup attracted a maximum of 5.9 crore concurrent viewers on Hotstar, a figure that is half of what pre-qualifier matches in the current season of the IPL are racking up online.  Star Sports, which has IPL’s TV broadcast rights, announced similar accessibility features last month. “We aim to make our entertainment content accessible for the deaf, hard of hearing and visually impaired communities on VOD (video on demand) and live content over the next 12-18 months,” Mr. Sivanandan said. He added that all of Hotstar’s original programming will have closed captioning and audio description tracks — though such features for content licensed from studios remains inconsistent at best across streaming platforms.  A review of accessibility features on streaming platforms in India by The Hindu last year found that most platforms have limited availability of same-language closed captioning or audio description for their content, with the steepest gap for films licensed from studios.  The IT Rules, 2021 include a recommendation for streaming platforms to make their content accessible to differently abled users, but most work in this regard has been through the industry’s own practices, and the government has not visibly exerted pressure to facilitate accessibility on OTT platforms.

England Overwhelm Pakistan In Final T20I Match Before World Cup Defence

England Overwhelm Pakistan In Final T20I Match Before World Cup Defence

Reigning champions England produced a fine all-round display as they beat Pakistan by seven wickets at The Oval on Thursday in their last competitive match before they begin the defence of their Twenty20 World Cup title. England restricted Pakistan to a modest 157 after winning the toss, with leg-spinner Adil Rashid, the player-of-the-match taking 2-27 from his maximum four overs. They then made a rapid start to their chase as Phil Salt (45) and skipper Jos Buttler (39) shared a blistering opening stand of 82 inside seven overs. Harry Brook ended the game with a six off paceman Haris Rauf, the pick of the Pakistan attack with 3-38, as England finished on 158-6 to win with more than three overs to spare. Victory gave England a 2-0 triumph in a four-match T20 series where games at Headingley and Cardiff were both washed out without a ball bowled. “We have worked hard in training and there is a good feeling around the squad,” Buttler told Sky Sports. Buttler was leading England after his wife gave birth to the couple’s third child following his dashing 84 in the hosts’ 23-run win in the second T20 at Edgbaston. “It would have been nice to get two more games in to expose a few guys to different situations,” Buttler added. “But we have really good experience in the group and a lot of guys have been playing in the IPL (Indian Premier League), so we are not short of cricket.” Both England openers launched Naseem Shah for huge sixes before Salt holed out off Rauf for a quickfire 45. Earlier, Pakistan had been well-placed at 59-0 after losing the toss at an overcast Oval. But they slumped to 86-5, the collapse starting when captain Babar Azam was caught at slip for a brisk 36 off fast bowler Jofra Archer. “It went well for five or six overs but then I got out,” said Azam. “The middle order needs to step up.  “We need to sort out those things for the World Cup. We have a few injuries but there are a lot of positives. Our play is good in patches.” Pakistan were also undone by a disciplined England attack, with Rashid telling reporters: “As a unit I thought we bowled exceptionally well. I know they (Pakistan) got off to a great start, but that’s T20 cricket.” Rashid was also enthused by the sight of injury-prone quicks Archer and Mark Wood, who took wickets with sharp bouncers, bowling in tandem.  “Jof and Woody, when you watch them bowl it is exciting,” he said.  “Seeing the ball zip off the pitch, the keeper taking it really high and it’s exciting to have two quality, world-class bowlers in our squad.” England launch their T20 World Cup campaign against Scotland in Barbados on June 4, with 2009 champions Pakistan in action two days later against co-hosts the United States in Dallas. Hardik Pandya Roars Back To Form With Best Display Of IPL 2024. Rohit Sharma Does This

Hardik Pandya struck form before the T20 World Cup while veteran Piyush Chawla also bagged three wickets as Mumbai Indians restricted Sunrisers Hyderabad for a below-par 173/8 in their IPL tie here on Monday. Pandya found rhythm and momentum to return 4-0-31-3 while Chawla (4-0-33-3) produced an impactful performance to trouble the SRH batters. This was Pandya’s fourth best bowling figures in the IPL. Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma was a happy man seeing the progress of his NO. 1 all rounder. To add to Pandya’s joy, MI won the match by 7 wickets with Suryakumar Yadav scoring an unbeaten ton. In complete contrast to last time these teams met earlier in this IPL when SRH hammered 277/3, their usually free-flowing batters struggled for momentum and lack of initiative meant they could never really trouble the Mumbai bowlers. The batters struggled on a two-paced surface and and MI were quick enough to capitalise. The powerplay had yielded 56 runs for the visitors without any damage but lack of initiative and regular fall of wickets stemmed the flow of runs. Coming on to bowl only in the second half of the innings, Chawla made the biggest impact with key wickets of Travis Head (48) and Heinrich Klaasen (2) to put Mumbai Indians in complete control. Head, who rode his luck throughout his stay in the middle, could not make the most of it. With two inside edges for boundaries at the start, SRH’s premier batter appeared to be struggling for timing and rhythm. In the fourth over, on 24, Head made room to smack MI debutant Ankush Kamboj and lost his off-stump in the process but that was when he got his first lifeline as the bowler was found to have overstepped. Head got another life when Nuwan Thushara spilled a regulation chance at deep third man when the opener was on 44 in the eighth over, but by then, SRH’s decline had already begun. Bumrah had got Abhishek Sharma (11 off 16 balls) caught behind and Mayank Agarwal (5) had become the Kamboj’s first victim. Nitish Kumar Reddy (20) was bounced out by Pandya, who also snaffled the wicket of Shahbaz Ahmed (10) later on to mark a complete flop show with the bat for SRH.

Yuzvendra Chahal Makes ‘Copyright Complaint’ Against PBKS Star, Writes To Elon Musk

India and Rajasthan Royals spinner Yuzvendra Chahal made a hilarious request to Elon Musk — a billionaire and owner of X, formerly Twitter — on Wednesday. Chahal asked Musk to put a copyright strike on Punjab Kings’ pacer Harshal Patel after the latter celebrated a catch during Chennai Super Kings game in a viral fashion. After completing the catch, Harshal celebrated in a manner that is associated to Chahal’s viral meme. Sharing the picture of Harshal’s celebration, Chahal wrote on X, “Dear @elonmusk paaji, Harshal bhai pe copyright lagana hai.” Dear @elonmusk paaji, Harshal bhai pe copyright lagana hai pic.twitter.com/CUAeZd6uNa — Yuzvendra Chahal (@yuzi_chahal) May 1, 2024 The post of Chahal, who has been named in India’s T20 World Cup squad that was announced on April 30, went viral on social media. Talking about the celebration, Kagiso Rabada bowled a short ball outside off stump to Sameer Rizvi, who tried to play an upper cut on it. The ball could not get past the third man where Harshal put a well-timed slide to take the catch. Punjab Kings beat Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets at MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Chasing a target of 163, PBKS reached home in 17.5 overs, thanks to Jonny Bairstow’s 46 off 30 and Rilee Rossouw’s 43 off 23. Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad (62 in 48) scored a fighting fifty to help CSK post 162 for 7 in 20 overs after getting an invitation to bat first. Rahul Chahar (2 for 16 in four overs) and Harpreet Brar (2 for 17 in four overs) were the pick of the bowlers for PBKS. Brar was later named the Player of the Match. “It was a good wicket to bowl on, and even Rahul (Chahar) bowled really well. I have been playing since 6 years, so my confidence has been pretty high. Now bowling to these legends of the game feels normal, I just bowl to my strengths. To be honest, I don’t think wickets, my aim is only to bowl lots of dot balls and dot balls create the wickets. When there is spin in the wicket, the bowlers confidence goes up and it is a bit helpful,” said Brar after the game. Topics mentioned in this article

Hardik Pandya: ‘If he is not bowling, does Hardik Pandya make the T20 World Cup squad?’ | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle has sparked debate over the inclusion of India all-rounder Hardik Pandya in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in June. Bhogle’s comments come in light of Pandya’s recent struggles with fitness and his limited bowling contribution in the IPL 2024 season.Pandya, who captains the Mumbai Indians in this year’s IPL, made a comeback to cricket after a five-month hiatus due to an ankle injury sustained during the ODI World Cup last year. While Pandya initially bowled a few overs in his return matches, his bowling workload has been sporadic, raising doubts over his ability to contribute as an all-rounder.Bhogle pointed out Pandya’s waning power-hitting skills and questioned whether he still merits a place in the T20 World Cup squad solely as a batsman if he is unable to bowl consistently.“If Hardik is not bowling, does Hardik make the T20 World Cup squad?” Bhogle questioned, while speaking on Cricbuzz. “Is he among the top six batters in India if he is not bowling? I’m not totally convinced of that because if he is not bowling and he is not finishing as powerfully, he needs to bat up, where all the competition is.”Bhogle emphasized the importance of Pandya’s all-round abilities in balancing India’s playing XI, particularly in the absence of regular bowling options among the top-order batsmen. Pandya’s ability to bowl four overs provides a crucial additional bowling option for the team and ensures the presence of at least two all-rounders, with Ravindra Jadeja also in contention. However, with Pandya’s fitness and bowling form under scrutiny, his selection for the T20 World Cup could hinge on his ability to regain full fitness and contribute effectively with both bat and ball.

Pakistan vs New Zealand 2nd T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips After the opening T20I of the series was reduced to a five over aside match but then lasted only two balls on Thursday, Pakistan and New Zealand reconvene again in Rawalpindi for the second of five matches on Saturday evening. Read on as we preview this T20I. The match gets underway at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium at 19:30 local time on April 20th. Although the opening game of the series lasted only two balls, there was still a wicket for Pakistan and their former skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi. We expect the bowling unit of the hosts to be too strong for New Zealand’s batters and Pakistan should have the ability to win this match. With the series still at 0-0, New Zealand will fancy their chances of getting the most out of their squad in this match and taking a 1-0 lead. However, taking on Pakistan in Rawalpindi is never easy and this group of New Zealand players will need to be at their best if they are to get a positive result. Pakistan vs New Zealand Match Toss PredictionNew Zealand won the toss on Thursday and chose to bat first but that was due to the game being reduced to five overs aside. We predict that the captains will want to field first ahead of this T20I. Pakistan vs New Zealand Pitch ReportWe were not able to learn too much about the surface at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in the opening game of the series but our view remains that overall this is a good batting surface. Rawalpindi Weather ReportThere is only a very small chance of rain on Saturday evening in Rawalpindi so any interruptions will be very short. It will be humid throughout with the temperature never lower than 20 degrees. Read on for team previews, betting tips, latest odds, and match prediction for Pakistan vs New Zealand 2nd T20 2024
