Big Blow For Rishabh Pant’s Delhi Capitals: Star Player Heads Home Mid-IPL. Here’s The Reason

File photo of Delhi Capitals.© BCCI Delhi Capitals have suffered a major setback as their Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has returned home to undergo treatment for a tear in his right hamstring. Marsh, who is set to be named Australia’s captain for the T20 World Cup in June, was recalled after consultations with the Delhi team management, according to ESPNCricinfo. However, a final call on his availability for the remainder of the season is yet to be taken. Marsh last played against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 3 and missed their previous two outings against Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants. Marsh’s top-score this season has only been 23 versus Rajasthan Royals, which DC won by 12 runs. He got out for a duck in their 106-run defeat against KKR. Marsh has been on a roll across formats for the Kangaroos, leading to him winning the Allan Border Medal for the most outstanding male Australian cricketer of the year. Since January 2023, the 32-year-old has scored 1,954 international runs in 38 outings at an average of 50.10, including three centuries, besides also taking 10 wickets. Other than Marsh, DC are also concerned with veteran Aussie opener David Warner’s availability for their Wednesday’s away fixture against Gujarat Titans. Warner hurt his finger while attempting a catch against LSG on Friday. He reportedly had swelling in his finger and underwent scans upon the team’s arrival in Ahmedabad. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, CPLT20, Today Match Prediction

𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 : St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons 𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 : Sep 8, Sunday 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 : 19:30 PM IST𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐄 : Warner Park Sporting Complex, Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis 𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 : Caribbean Premier League, 2024 St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots’ only win this season has come against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. St Kitts and Nevis Patriots vs Antigua and Barbuda Falcons TV channels: The fans can watch the match live on Hotstar Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the FAFA191 Cricket Exchange India and website. SNP vs ABF Match Prediction & Analysis St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots will take on Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the 11th match of the Caribbean Premier League 2024. The match is scheduled to take place tomorrow in Basseterre. Both teams are the bottom half of the table currently after playing five matches each.  St. Kitts are the last place on the table with 2 points and a net run rate of -1.183. The Falcons are one place above them with the same number of points but a better run rate of -0.687. The Patriots have already beaten the Falcons once this season and will be looking to repeat that feat. TEAMS PREVIEW St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Preview St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots started this season with a thrilling one-wicket win against Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. After that match, however, they have lost four games in a row, their latest being a 2-wicket loss to Barbados Royals. Antigua and Barbuda Falcons Preview After losing their first four matches of the season, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons registered their first points on the board with a narrow 6-run win against Trinbago Knight Riders.  Weather Conditions The pitch at Warner Park has proved to be a delight for batters this year in the Caribbean Premier League, with plenty of high-scoring affairs. Only the previous match between St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Barbados Royals saw a slower wicket. Otherwise, the tracks at the venue have been rather flat with the ball coming on the perfect height for the batters. Seam bowlers don’t get much help here after the initial few overs. Spinners will have to be on point with their lengths.  St. Kitts will be mostly cloudy tomorrow with a couple of showers in the afternoon. This might disrupt the match, but we should still get a full game.  SNP vs ABF Pitch Report The average score batting first at Warner Park is 167. However, this season, the venue has produced a plethora of high-scoring games. In the first three matches of this CPL, each team managed to smash a 200+ score here. This year’s highest total at the venue is Guyana Amazon Warriors’ 266-7 against St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots. Expect another match with a flurry of boundaries and sixes.

Pace bowler Mark Wood has not played a competitive game of cricket since early March and he will be well rested. He is our tip for England’s top wicket taker against Pakistan.Babar Azam has hit 31 international centuries with three coming in this format. The captain is our pick for Pakistan’s highest run scorer against England. Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wicket hauls in the last two T20Is and he is a strong choice for Pakistan’s top wicket taker in this game.Needing only 73 runs to bring up 3000 T20I runs, we suggest backing Jos Buttler to hit the most boundaries in this game. England vs Pakistan TV channels: The fans can watch the match live on Hotstar Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the FAFA191 Cricket Exchange India and website. England vs Pakistan 2nd T20 Match Prediction & Betting Tips After the opening game of the four match T20I series was washed out and abandoned without a toss in Headingley, Leeds on Wednesday, England and Pakistan will try again on Saturday afternoon at Edgbaston, Birmingham. Read on as we preview this second match of the series which is designed to provide preparation for the T20 World Cup. The fixture gets underway at 14:30 local time on May 25th. With Wednesday’s match guaranteed to be called off from breakfast onwards, England’s players will have enjoyed a rest day but time is fast running out for enough match practice ahead of the T20 World Cup. Cheered on by patriotic and noisy supporters at Edgbaston, we expect England to win. Pakistan should be slightly more ‘game-ready’ after their three match series in Ireland and the side progressed and improved across those games. This will be a tough contest but we do predict that Pakistan will be competitive at Edgbaston. England vs Pakistan Match Toss PredictionThis will be the eighth T20I at Edgbaston and all of the previous seven have been won by the team batting first. Therefore, we predict that both the skippers will choose to bat if they call correctly at the toss. England vs Pakistan Pitch ReportWe can expect a good batting wicket at Edgbaston with a par score likely to be over 200 in this match. There will be pace in the pitch but also some turn for the spin bowlers. Birmingham Weather ReportAfter the disappointment of the non-stop rain in Leeds on Wednesday, more downpours and heavy cloud cover are forecast at Edgbaston on Saturday. The temperature should get up to 18 degrees and we expect the game to be able to be played in full. Zimbabwe vs Ireland, IRE vs ZIM 2025, Today Match Prediction

𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 : Zimbabwe vs Ireland𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 : February 25, Tuesday𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 : 14:30 PM IST𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐄 : Harare Sports Club, Harare, Zimbabwe𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 : 3rd T20I 2025 Rain could disrupt proceedings in the third game with a chance of a few showers and a thunderstorm rolling in later in the afternoon. Zimbabwe vs Ireland TV channels: The fans can watch the match live on Hotstar Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the FAFA191 Cricket Exchange India and website. ZIM vs IRE Match Prediction & Analysis Ireland suffered a narrow three-wicket defeat in a closely contested second T20, handing Zimbabwe a 1-0 lead in the series. All eyes are now on the third and final T20I, set to take place in Harare on Tuesday. Ireland will aim to bounce back and level the series with a win, while Zimbabwe will be determined to maintain their momentum and secure a series victory. TEAMS PREVIEW Zimbabwe Preview Zimbabwe edged out Ireland by three wickets in the second T20I, successfully chasing 138 in 19.2 overs. They got off to a shaky start, slumping to 14-3 within the first four overs. But thanks to Ryan Burl’s composed 27 off 20 and an unbeaten 43 off 30 from Tony Munyonga, they crossed the line comfortably in the end. Zimbabwe’s batting depth has been a real asset in this format, giving them the freedom to attack without leaning too heavily on one player. Brian Bennett and Wessly Madhevere have been consistent at the top and are likely to enjoy batting on this surface. Ireland Preview After a below-par performance in the second T20I, Ireland will aim to hit back strongly in the third match. Their batting let them down last time, as they could only manage 137-8. Lorcan Tucker (46 off 40) and Harry Tector (28 off 20) were the standout performers, but the rest of the team didn’t contribute enough. If Ireland want to get back on track, their batters need to fire. Paul Stirling, Curtis Campher, and George Dockrell have the talent to pile on the runs and will be expected to rise to the occasion. Stirling, in particular, brings a lot of experience to the table and will be counted on to play a big role. Tucker’s presence at the top of the order is essential. Whether it’s by setting a brisk pace or rebuilding after early setbacks, his recent form makes him a key player for Ireland. In terms of bowling, Craig Young and Graham Hume are set to play pivotal roles. Young was brilliant in the previous game, picking up 4-24 in his four overs. Meanwhile, Josh Little and Benjamin White add depth to Ireland’s attack and could prove effective in taking wickets when it matters. Weather Conditions The pitch at Harare Sports Club is expected to offer a fair contest between bat and ball. It should provide a hard surface with even bounce, which will help the seamers throughout. Spinners might get some assistance as the game progresses into the middle overs. The outfield is fast and in excellent condition, which could lead to bigger hits and quicker runs. The weather forecast suggests cloudy conditions, with a couple of showers and a possible thunderstorm expected in the afternoon and later in the day. ZIM vs IRE Pitch Report The average score batting first at the Harare Sports Club is 155. The highest score posted here is India’s 234-2 against Zimbabwe in 2024, a game they won comfortably.  Toss: To Bowl As the last match showed, chasing is usually the better option at Harare when conditions are cloudy and we expect both captains to field first if they win the toss in this match.

South Africa vs Pakistan, SA vs PAK 2024, Today Match Prediction

𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 : South Africa vs Pakistan𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 : December 26 ,Thursday𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄 : 13:30 PM IST𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐔𝐄 : SuperSport Park Cricket Stadium, Centurion, South Africa𝐓𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 : 1st Test 2024 Pakistan have never won a Test series in South Africa and have remained winless here in their last six Tests. South Africa vs Pakistan TV channels: The fans can watch the match live on Hotstar Live Streaming: Live streaming of the match will be available on the FAFA191 Cricket Exchange India and website. RSA vs PAK Match Prediction & Analysis South Africa will face Pakistan in the first Test at Centurion on Boxing Day. Sitting at the top of the ICC World Test Championship standings, the Proteas need just one win from their two home games against Pakistan to secure a spot in next year’s final at Lord’s. Pakistan, who triumphed 2-1 against England in their October home series on spin-friendly tracks, prepared for this Test series by whitewashing their hosts 3-0 in ODIs last week. However, the Proteas are exceptionally strong on home ground, and overcoming them will require a special effort. TEAMS PREVIEW South Africa Preview South Africa may have come up short in the ODI series at home against Pakistan, but their Test squad is a different story. The team recently whitewashed both Sri Lanka and Bangladesh and will be eager to continue their winning streak. Temba Bavuma will captain the side, bringing strong form to the table. His recent performances against Sri Lanka included three fifties and a century in just four innings. Tristan Stubbs has also made waves in his debut year, racking up two hundreds and a fifty in just seven matches. Pakistan Preview Pakistan head into this Test series with renewed confidence after their historic ODI whitewash of South Africa at home. That said, the challenges of Test cricket are different, and they will need to step up to compete on what promises to be a seaming wicket. The batting unit has its work cut out against South Africa’s formidable pace attack. Saud Shakeel and Salman Agha, who were the top two run-getters in Pakistan’s Test win over England, will be key to holding the innings together. Meanwhile, young Saim Ayub, fresh off two stunning ODI hundreds against South Africa, will look to make his mark in the longer format. Captain Shan Masood and Babar Azam, known for their composure, will play pivotal roles in anchoring the innings.  Weather Conditions SuperSport Park, Centurion, typically offers a pace-friendly surface with consistent bounce and carry, favoring fast bowlers, especially early on. The pitch tends to quicken as the game progresses. Overhead conditions often influence swing, adding another layer of challenge for batters. Historically, it rewards disciplined batting and aggressive bowling. The weather forecast shows that Centurion will see cloudy skies on five days of the Test with chances of rain interrupting proceedings regularly. RSA vs PAK Pitch Report The average first innings score at SuperSport Park is 327. The average runs per wicket at the venue is just 29.81. The team batting first will be looking to get a score between 300-350 runs to feel secure. Toss: To Bowl Both teams are likely to look to field first and restrict the opposition for a low score on the first day when the wicket is likely to be at its liveliest.

Can Dravid extract the best out of the Men in Blue and bow out on a high?

Can Dravid extract the best out of the Men in Blue and bow out on a high?

Real test: The experienced Indian squad has its task cut out as it sets out to break a decade-long drought in ICC tournaments. | Photo Credit: X@IMRO45 It was in November 2021 that Rahul Dravid, then the newly appointed India head coach, stated that his side needed to focus on three “big events” — the 2022 T20 World Cup, the 2021-23 ICC World Test Championship, and the 2023 ODI Cricket World Cup. To claim an ICC trophy was paramount for Dravid and his men, having faced a drought since the exploits of M.S. Dhoni’s side in the 2013 Champions Trophy. So here we are, nearly three years later, approaching the end of Dravid’s reign. The three big events have come and gone, and India is yet to scale the highest peak. The 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup presents Dravid the last chance to add that exclamation point to his coaching tenure. Much like Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma cannot escape a world event without repeatedly being reminded about India’s long empty cabinet. Rohit came closest to achieving the dream last year, disrupted only by a ruthless Australia in the final of the 2023 ODI CWC. Rohit also led the charge at the previous edition of the T20 mega event, where eventual champion England thumped India by 10 wickets in the semifinal. Rohit will have much of the same personnel from two years ago on duty here. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav, the highest and third highest tournament run scorers in 2022, come in hot again on the back of good performances in IPL 2024. The presence of Jasprit Bumrah, who missed the festivities in 2022 due to a back injury, makes the line-up far more potent. Bumrah’s yorkers and pinpoint accuracy can pull the team out of desperate times. The team management will do well to implore the players to learn from a grave mistake committed in the 2023 final. The batters were much too cautious at Ahmedabad — a mistake that can sound the death knell in modern-day T20 cricket. Attack, attack, attack, and live with the consequences — this is the only way to go. It would be no exaggeration to state that India has received a favourable draw. It faces no banana skin in Group A, with Pakistan being the only major threat. At least on paper, Ireland, USA, and Canada should be easy pickings. India’s progress to the Super 8s — reserved for the top two teams in each group — is virtually guaranteed. No World Cup is complete without a marquee India-Pakistan game. It is the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York which will play host to this highly-anticipated game on June 9. Kohli’s majestic straight six off Haris Rauf at Melbourne is still fresh in the memory. The occasion demands another highlight for the ages. The bigger tests await in the Super 8s, which will be held in the West Indies. India, and Dravid in particular, will not carry good memories from the last time the Caribbean hosted a big event. Visuals from the 2007 World Cup shock group-stage exit, under the captaincy of Dravid, is best buried and forgotten. Thankfully, this group of players bear no scars from that horror. And thus another quest begins. Dravid, Rohit & Co. will be desperate not to return empty-handed.

Avesh Khan Livid As Sanju Samson Makes Fielding ‘Disaster’ To Drop Catch In PBKS vs RR IPL 2024 Match

The Punjab Kings vs Rajasthan Royals IPL 2024 game presented some brilliant bowling moments as the Sanju Samson-led side choked the hosts for runs in Mohali. RR have been one of the most consistent sides in the IPL 2024 and they brought their form against PBKS too. The hosts were without their regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan and could not get going with the bat. Rajasthan Royals kept dismissing rival batters as PBKS could not even touch 150-mark in 20 overs. While there were moments of brilliance from Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson, including the run out of Liam Livingstone, there were moments where he committed massive mess. Right at the start of the RR innings, he and Kuldip Sen almost dropped a  catch. Then, in the 19th over, he did not pay heed to Avesh Khan’s call as he charged to take a catch of Ashutosh Sharma. Though Avesh was closer, Samson went ahead  and dropped the catch. Avesh Khan was clearly frustrated with the call. He has costed Rajasthan Royals 10-15 runs here. This is the 4th time in IPL when Samson has not made a call for the catch and went running in to the fielder. Brain-fades!#PBKSvRR #SanjuSamson #LiamLivingston #RajasthanRoyals pic.twitter.com/XKTFM7zrJI — (@cric_insiderr) April 13, 2024 Rajasthan Royals bowlers under Avesh Khan and Keshav Maharaj exploited a sticky pitch to the hilt to restrict Punjab Kings to an underwhelming 147 for eight in their IPL match in Mohali  on Saturday. Pacer Avesh (2/34) and left-arm spinner Maharaj (2/23) did not allow any breathing space to Kings’ batters after Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson opted to field first. Ashutosh Sharma (31, 16b), Jitesh Sharma (29, 24b) and Liam Livingstone (21, 14b) tried to force the pace but Punjab needed more than those pretty little cameos. But the Kings had a rather quick start to their innings with 26 runs coming in the first three overs as Atharva Taide, who came in for injured skipper Shikhar Dhawan, hammered a couple of fours off pacer Kuldeep Sen. However, the brakes were soon applied as Taide’s mistimed pull off pacer Avesh Khan ended in the hands of Sen inside the circle. Thereafter the Punjab batters struggled to muster any sort of momentum on a pitch that gripped a bit, especially for left-arm spinner Maharaj and leg-spinner Chahal. However, a slice of credit should also go to veteran pacer Trent Boult who conceded just 15 runs in his three power play overs, a stage when the pitch was still fine for batting. The last three power play overs could only fetch 10 runs for Kings as they ended that passage with a modest 38 for one. In the next five overs, the hosts struggled to hit even one boundary as they laboured to 53 for four in 10 overs, losing Jonny Bairstow, stand-in-skipper Sam Curran and Prabhsimran Singh, all consumed by the combination of a slow deck and accurate spinners. Curran’s dismissal was the most telltale example of that. The left-hander failed to impart power or timing to his pull off Maharaj as the ball got even slower after pitching. Dhruv Jurel latched on to a tumbling catch while running in from deep mid-wicket. Their biggest hope on the day could have been the range-hitting ability of in-form Shahshank Singh but a feeble pull off Sen could not progress beyond Jurel at mid-wicket. With the cream of top-order back in the hut without any significant contribution, the PBKS required some hefty hand from Livingstone and Jitesh to get to even a par score. Sharma showed some intent too, clobbering Chahal for a gorgeously timed six over extra over, and later sent Sen for a six to the straight fence before getting out to Avesh. Livingstone, who creamed Sen for a six and four off successive balls through mid-wicket, and Ashutosh, who smoked Avesh for two sixes in the 19th over, helped PBKS add 61 runs in the last five overs, but their effort came a wee bit late. IPL 2024: KL Rahul ready for ‘tough conversations’ after KKR loss, backs Shamar despite poor debut

LSG fell to a loss in back to back matches in the Indian Premier League. After losing their home game against DC, LSG lost to KKR at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, 14 February. KL Rahul’s side were outplayed with both bat and ball on the day. KKR outclassed LSG in both innings, first restricting them to 161 and then chasing the target down inside the first 16 overs of the game. Speaking after the conclusion of the match, KL Rahul said that it was time to have tough conversations with his side as they were dismal against both DC and KKR. Rahul pinned the blame on the top 4 batters of the LSG side, and said that one of the players should have taken their innings deep. Among them was Rahul himself, who got out after scoring 39 runs. “Yeah, one of those days. It was a proper hammering. Sometimes, games like these are tough to digest. But that always happens in cricket and every team goes through those in IPL. We’ll try to go back and work out where we got wrong,” KL Rahul told the broadcaster after the match. KKR vs LSG Highlights | Scorecard Asked about the pitch and if it was difficult to bat in the first innings, Rahul revealed that KKR found it more difficult due to the batting nipping around at the Eden Gardens. “It was the other way around. Once the lights were on, the ball started nipping. In the first innings, the wicket was good. I can’t play we played bad shots. But we kept losing wickets in bunches and it creates more pressure on the batting unit. I felt we left at least 30 runs there and if our lower-order batters had stayed there, we could have got to a good total,” Rahul said. IPL 2024 Full Coverage | IPL 2024 Points Table and Standings | 2024 IPL Full Schedule LSG handed a debut to Shamar Joseph in the absence of Mayank Yadav. Shamar was able to swing the ball but ended up having a dismal debut. The pacer conceded 47 off his 4 overs, which included a 10-ball wayward first over in the second innings of the match. “Shamar was excited to bowl. He was a bit off with his lines but he bowled quick and got the ball to nip. He has to work on his consistency a bit. Not panicking but you can’t put your feet up and hope the results go your way. We will look to see where we went wrong and have some difficult conversations. But in the last few games, we haven’t been able to get past 160 and we’ll work on it,” concluded the LSG captain. LSG have now won three and lost three from their 6 matches. Published By: Kingshuk Kusari Published On: Apr 14, 2024
