This T20I series followed immediately after West Indies triumphed in the ODI series 2-1, but there has been no momentum taken into this shorter format with England cruising to two victories in Barbados.
But a switch of islands, and a new ground in the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium, could be just what West Indies need after being out-played in both of the openers. After two T20Is with no batter making a half-century and only five wickets taken in total by the bowling attack, something is going to have to change for West Indies in this game. It might need Romario Shepherd, their leading wicket taker with three dismissals and their second highest run scorer in the series, to go up the order, or it may be that the returning Alzarri Joseph is able to give them enough aggression with the ball to stop England’s attacking run scoring approach.

For England, this series has been a real breath of fresh air after they lost the ODIs and were accused in some quarters of not taking white ball cricket seriously enough. However, the return of captain Jos Buttler has proved to be a huge plus for the side with his calm leadership a feature of both T20Is in the series so far.

Typical Caribbean weather conditions are forecast for this game with humidity high throughout and the threat of rain never too far away. Equally, it will be very warm and it would be a surprise to see any of the players in the field without plenty of sweat on their shirts!

This is a good batting wicket in Gros Islet and one where India skipper Rohit Sharma hit 92 runs from 41 balls in the last T20I here. Equally, in the last head to head between England and West Indies at this venue, Phil Salt also produced a Player of the Match performance so expect good pace in the wicket and the top order batters will be able to take full advantage during the power-play.
