South Africa have sealed the 3-match T20I series with a win in the second outing at the SuperSport Park in Centurion. Both games have been high-scoring and the hosts had the upper hand on both occasions.

Pakistan looked good with the bat but looked dependent on a couple of players. Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayyub are the only promising batters in this squad. The rest of the lineup including Babar Azam failed to get going.

The Proteas will be confident of finishing the series on a winning note. While Reeza Hendricks has found his rhythm at the top with a hundred in the last outing, they have got the reliable Rassie van der Dussen and Heinrich Klaasen in the middle order.

South Africa Preview

South Africa are leading 2-0 and will be out to finish a clean sweep in Johannesburg. Though it looks like a solid batting lineup overall with key players in great touch, there is one player whose form will be a concern.

Matthew Breetzke was out cheaply in both outings at number 3. All eyes will be on him to come good in the 3rd T20I and make a mark for himself. He averages just over 16 and has a strike rate of 122 from 10 T20Is.

Rassie van der Dussen was sent down to number 4 after he was out for a duck in the opening game. He found his rhythm in the second match scoring an unbeaten 66 off 38 balls to help South Africa win by 7 wickets while chasing a 207-run target.

Pakistan Preview

Pakistan need to find other match-winners apart from Mohammad Rizwan and Saim Ayyub. Babar Azam was off to a steady start in the second match but failed to convert it into something more significant.

Azam isn’t the typical T20 player who can score quick runs and accelerate the pace of the innings. He is expected to anchor the innings from one end and build partnerships with others who come in to bat alongside him.

Rizwan and Saim Ayyub are in fine touch and will have their job cut out for them. They need to score big and haven’t got anyone else to rely on at the moment.

Usman Khan and Tayyab Tahir haven’t looked promising in the middle order though Irfan Khan’s 30 off 16 balls at number 6 will raise hopes for the visitors.

Weather Conditions

It will be partly cloudy with a high of 18 degrees Celsius around the game in Johannesburg. Though there is a rain prediction for the next day, we don’t expect any interruptions during the 3rd T20I between the two sides.

RSA vs PAK Pitch Report

There is enough help for the batters on this wicket though its dryness might create some inconsistence bounce from a length. There will be pace on offer and the ball will come onto the bat nicely. TheΒ average 1st innings score in T20Is here is 176 runs. We reckon anything above 185-190 will be a highly competitive total on this pitch.

Toss: To Bat

Teams batting first have won 14 of the 27 T20Is played at this venue. Though there is no clear advantage to either batting or bowling first here, we reckon having runs on the board can put the team ahead in the contest. There is plenty of help for the batters and if the team batting first gets to a competitive score, they should have the upper hand in the second innings.
