Host Pakistan will face South Africa in the second match of the one-day series played at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on Thursday.

In the series opener played on Tuesday, Pakistan managed to beat South Africa by two wickets. With this result, Shaheen-led Pakistan have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

On the other hand, South Africa will need to learn from their mistakes and raise their overall game in a bid to level the ODI series.

In the batting department, the side will be relying on the likes of openers Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Salman Agha and wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan to deliver the bulk of the runs.

In the series opener, Salman Agha played well for Pakistan and finished the innings with the top-score of 62 runs off 71 balls with the help of five fours and one six. He was well supported by wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 55 runs off 74 balls with the help of six fours.

Besides Agha and Rizwan, the opening duo of Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub got the side off to a fantastic start and added 87 runs in just 15 overs.

Fakhar Zaman scored 45 runs off 57 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes, whereas Saim Ayub chipped in with 39 runs off 42 balls with the help of four boundaries and one six.

In the bowling department, the side will be depending on the likes of Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abrar Ahmed, Saim Ayub and Mohammad Nawaz to deliver timely breakthroughs.

South Africa Preview

In the batting department, the side will be relying on openers Quinton de Kock, Lhuan dre-Pretorius, Matthew Breetzke, Tony de Zorzi, Donovan Ferreira and Sinethemba Qeshile to deliver the bulk of the runs.

For South Africa, Quinton de Kock scored a splendid 63 runs off 71 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes. He was well supported by debutante Lhuan dre-Pretorius, who scored 57 runs off 60 balls with the help of seven fours and one six.

Besides de Kock and dre Pretorius, Matthew Breetzke scored 42 runs off 54 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes, whereas all-rounder Corbin Bosch chipped in with 41 runs off 40 balls with the help of six fours.

In the bowling department, the side will be depending on the likes of Lizaad Williams, Lungi Ngidi, Corbin Bosch, Bjorn Fortuin and George Linde to deliver timely breakthroughs.

In the opening match, Lungi Ngidi, Corbin Bosch and Donovan Ferreira bowled well and claimed two wickets apiece.
