PANT RETURNS TO VINTAGE STYLE
Pant arrived at his vintage self as he propelled DC to an emphatic win against DC. The Delhi captain unleashed some outrageous hitting en route to his 41-run knock from 24 balls. He captivated the experts as well as the fans with his brilliant stroke-making.
There was some outrageous hitting by the DC captain, who unleashed his vintage shots and took on the LSG bowlers. He danced down the pitch against spinners to hit the ball out of the park. He didn’t spare the pacers, as well, as he hit the reverse ramp, pull shots to counter charge. He was well-supported by the debutant Fraser-McGurk, who notched up his maiden IPL fifty in his very first match.

The duo shared a 77-run stand from 46 balls to put the game in DC’s control completely. However, Pant was dismissed by Ravi Bishnoi as he danced down the track, but lost his shape as well as the bat and was stumped by LSG skipper KL Rahul. Pant was relieved by DC’s win and mentioned that he wanted the team to think like champions.
“Little relief, we wanted a win badly. I was talking to the boys saying we need to think like champions, we need to keep fighting hard. (On bowling) We have phases where we are not up to the mark, some individuals have to take responsibility for that. However, we stick together as a group. Some things you can control, some things we can’t,” Pant said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
DC registered their first-ever win against LSG after losing the previous 3 encounters.
