Former West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop has shut down trolls on social media. After KKR’s victory against LSG, Bishop was quick to point out that there are sections on fans who always attribute KKR’s win to Gautam Gambhir and loss to Shreyas Iyer. Replying to comments on his own Twitter thread, Bishop took on multiple fans and shut them down for hating on Shreyas Iyer.
The Indian middle-order batter returned to the KKR franchise after a year. Iyer had not played for KKR in 2023 due to his back injury. Under Iyer’s leadership, KKR are currently at the top of the Indian Premier League points table with 8 wins from 11 games. KKR are nearly assured of the playoffs in this season.

Bishop took to Twitter after the game, asking if fans were going to be vocal about Shreyas Iyer or not since KKR had handed an epic thrashing to LSG. Many fans came to attack Shreyas instead and said that it was Gautam Gambhir who had turned the fortunes of the franchise.

While KKR have done well as a team in this season, Shreyas Iyer’s own form has been inconsistent. The player was dropped from India’s T20 World Cup 2024 side and will hope to make a strong comeback in the white-ball format of the game. Before the IPL, Shreyas was rested from the Indian Test side due to repeated failures in the red-ball format.
