BH vs SYS Match Prediction & Analysis
Both Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers were quick out of the traps in this edition of the Big Bash League but it is the latter who come into this game still with a 100% record.
Brisbane Heat got the better of both Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers before they came a cropper against Perth Scorchers but Sydney Sixers have beaten Melbourne Renegades, Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Stars.
This game sees two of the most successful BBL franchises from the past few years go head to head and, even though Sydney Sixers lead the overall fixtures 14-7, it is Heat who have been far and away the more successful in recent clashes.
TEAMS PREVIEW
Brisbane Heat Preview
After enjoying their first two games of the campaign, fielding first, Brisbane Heat found the going a lot tougher in Match 12 as they were downed by Perth Scorchers in spite of choosing to chase after winning the toss.
Their bowlers put in a reasonable display, picking up six wickets and restricting the Scorchers to 165 as Spencer Johnson announced his return to the tournament with a brilliant display of left-arm pace bowling. He took the now customary first over wicket of Finn Allen before retuning to dismiss Cooper Connolly in the 15th and Ashton Turner along with Ashton Agar in the 19th.
Sydney Sixers Preview
Sydney Sixers have had many strong squads over the past decade but this latest reincarnation could possibly be the best of the lot! Coming into this game, and still yet to fail to win a game in this edition, the Sixers managed to turn around conceding 116/3 in the opening ten overs against Melbourne Stars to romp home by eight wickets with 11 balls remaining.
Of the bowling attack, only Jack Edwards comes into this clash without a wicket in the last fixture and it was Jackson Bird who stoood out with figures of 3/35. It will turn at the Gabba which means Akeal Hosein and Todd Murphy will both be dangerous.
With the bat, it is Englandβs James Vince who will be full of confidence after he hit an unbeaten 101 runs from 58 balls in the big win over Melbourne Stars.
Weather Conditions
There could be plenty of life in the wicket early on in this game as Sunday is forecast to be very humid with thunderstorms throughout the morning and early afternoon. Fortunately this match does not start until 18:15, by which time the clouds are expected to have all cleared.
BH vs SYS Pitch Report
The Gabba is one of the worldβs most famous grounds with its distinctive yellow and brown seats making seeing the red ball a challenge at times. There is no such issues with the white ball in the BBL and we expect a par score to be around 180 on a pitch which will turn and bounce.
Toss: To Bowl
With Sydney Sixers winning all three of their games when fielding first and Brisbane Heat doing the same in their opening two matches, we predict that both captains will want to bowl first in this fixture.
