Matthew Short came into the side in the last match, taking over the captaincy from Alex Ross, and led the Strikers to their second home win. Short scored a brilliant hundred at the top and was part of the 121-run opening stand with Chris Lynn.
This is great news for the Strikers. Lynn has been in great form this season, scoring consistently as the opener for the side. However, Short joining him at the top with a brilliant game-changing knock will boost Adelaideβs hopes and confidence.
Alex Ross has also been in fine touch at number 5 and is a key player to watch out for. He can lead a great finish for the Strikers along with Jamie Overton in the lower order.
Though there has been some inconsistency in the middle order and weβve seen many changes to the batting lineup, Alex Carey and Ollie Pope are quite experienced players with a lot of skill and we expect them to find their rhythm soon.
Sydney Sixers Preview
Sydney Sixers will be confident after their recent win. Before this win, they were struggling with the bat and failed to chase down 157 and 162-run targets in their previous two outings.
While Steve Smith led the batting effort in the last game, what the Sixers need at the moment is a comeback from Josh Philippe and Kurtis Patterson in the top 3. These two batters have struggled to get going since the last 3 consecutive matches.
