Sunrisers Hyderabad are officially out of the tournament, and it sums up their seasonโdisappointing. Their last match against Delhi Capitals was called off due to rain, which hurt even more because they finally got things right with the ball. They kept DC down to 133-7, a rare strong showing, but never got a chance to chase it.
Most of SRHโs wins have come when the top order got going early. But once they lose early wickets, itโs usually downhill from there. A solid start is non-negotiable, and that puts pressure on Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head to deliver. Abhishek has had his momentsโlike that belligerent 141 off 88 against Punjab and the 74 off 41 against GTโbut Head has struggled badly, and thatโs set them back.
Heinrich Klaasen, Ishan Kishan, and Nitish Kumar follow next. None have strung together big scores consistently, but theyโve each had flashes where they looked capable of turning a game. Just one decent innings from any of them could flip the script here.

The bowling finally clicked last game. Pat Cummins led from the front with a superb 3-19, and Harshal Patel chipped in during the middle overs, as he has throughout the tournament, using his variations smartly to pick up wickets. Zeeshan Ansari and Jaydev Unadkat have chipped in with 13 wickets between them and have managed to keep things fairly tight in the middle phase.
Kolkata Knight Riders Preview
Kolkata Knight Riders, the reigning champions, havenโt had the smoothest seasonโjust five wins and six losses from their 12 matches, placing them sixth on the table. With only two games left and a net run rate of 0.193, theyโll need to win both convincingly and hope other match results work in their favor to stay in playoff contention.
KKRโs batting lineup has been inconsistent. Ajinkya Rahane has been the one steady presence topping the batting charts with 375 runs in 11 innings, while others have struggled to put together a strong run. Quinton de Kock made way for Rahmanullah Gurbaz, but the Afghan hasnโt made much of an impact yet.
Sunil Narine has had his moments at the top, though his scores have fluctuated. That said, heโs always capable of a quick 20 or 30. Andre Russell, meanwhile, has found some momentum again with two strong finishes in the last two matches: 38 off 21 and an unbeaten 57 from 25.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been another bright spot, putting up 286 runs in 10 innings at an average of 35.75 and a strike rate of 145.17. KKRโs bowling has held up reasonably well. Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora have done a good job up front, sharing 31 wickets, though they tend to go for runs later in the innings. Varun Chakaravarthy, Narine, and Moeen Ali have kept things under control in the middle overs, and their 12 combined overs could again make a difference. Russellโs also chipped in with some tight overs at the death and has picked up wickets at important times.
Weather Conditions
The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium usually leans towards high-scoring games, but some of the pitches used in IPL 2025 have thrown in a few surprises. Pitch number two is still behaving the way most expectโflat, good pace, and plenty of runs in it. That said, if they pick one of the other strips, like the one used in the last game here, things tighten up. The surface tends to grip more, especially during the middle overs, and batting can get a bit tricky.
As for the weather, Hyderabad will be warm and muggy. Thereโs nothing in the forecast that suggests rain, so the match should go ahead without any interruptions.
SRH vs KKR Pitch Report
If this match is played on pitch number two, expect a high-scoring slugfest. Both teams will be eyeing totals well over 220.
