With the two finalists already confirmed for the last game of this Tri-Series, some might expect an element of two teams just going through the motions in this game on Friday.
But that would be unfair on both Sri Lanka Women and South Africa Women who, for differing reasons, have motivations to put in strong performances in Colombo.

Sunday’s victory for Sri Lanka Women over India Women was unexpected and historic as it was their second highest successful chase and only their third ever win in a head to head in this format.
Credit went across the team from Sugandika Kumari and Chamari Athapaththu taking three wickets each as Sri Lanka Women restricted India Women to 275/9, but the truth is that there was still plenty to be done by the batters.
All of the top six made useful contributions between 22 and 56 but it will be Harshita Samarawickrama and Nilakshika Silva who will come into this game against South Africa Women targeting successive half-centuries.
Sri Lanka Women showed that they have quality across the team and they will aim to make it three wins in a row, and open up the possibility of a fourth in the final, when this game gets underway.
South Africa Women Preview
Although it was another defeat for South Africa Women in this tournament when they were beaten by India Women on Wednesday, there were plenty of positives for the team to takeaway from the game.
They went down by 23 runs but valiantly attempted to chase down a tough target of 338!
Masabata Klaas, Nadine de Klerk and Nonkululeko Mlaba all took three wickets in Wednesday’s match and they should fancy their chances against what is recognised as an inferior batting line-up from Sri Lanka Women.
