Quetta Gladiators have won back-to-back matches and will be eying a third straight win against a struggling Multan side. While Gladiators have struggled with the bat, their bowlers are on top of their game. Sultans, on the other hand, have been inconsistent with their performances lately.

Multan Sultans have won just one of their 6 matches so far. Since that win over LHQ while defending 228 runs, the Sultans have lost two matches in a row. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan is in fine touch at the top and is a key match-winner for the team.

Gladiators will pose a tough challenge to the Sultans with the ball. QTG bowled out PSZ in the last match for 114 runs and successfully defended a 142-run target in the previous game against Karachi Kings.

Sultans have a strong top-order that is responsible for scoring a majority of the runs. The lack of reliable middle-order batters and a finisher is what’s holding Sultans back.

Quetta Gladiators Preview

Quetta Gladiators crossed the 170-run mark in their last outing. While that was a much better performance than their previous matches, the batting concerns are far from over.

There wasn’t a single fifty in the innings for QTG and they lost 7 wickets on their way to a 178-run total while batting first. The batting lineup looks solid with Saud Shakeel and Finn Allen opening the innings followed by Rilee Rossouw and Kusal Mendis at 3 and 4.

The lack of consistency from these top 4 batters is a big issue for the Gladiators going ahead in this league. The recent performance against Peshawar Zalmi will likely give some hope to the Gladiators.

The top 4 batters were decent while Allen was particularly impressive with his 16-ball 31-run knock. Mark Chapman and Faheem Ashraf have the finishing responsibilities in this batting order. Chapman is a promising batsman from New Zealand and we reckon he will come good in this match.

In the bowling attack, Mohammad Amir leads the pack with his experience and ability to swing the new ball. Mohammad Wasim is another in-form pacer who can make a big difference.

It is a strong overall side with promising batters who seem to be finding their rhythm and a bowling attack that is in great shape, delivering consistent results.

Multan Sultans Preview

Multan Sultans made a couple of big changes to their playing XI in the last match bringing in Shai Hope and promoting Kamran Ghulam to fix their batting woes. While it was the skipper who led the batting effort once again, he found some great help from the number 4 batter Ghulam who scored an unbeaten 52 off 31 balls.

The two struck a crucial partnership of 115 runs for the 4th wicket. It was a great batting effort from the two that took the Sultans from 70 for 3 in 10.1 Overs to 185 for 3 in 20.

Nevertheless, it wasn’t enough as Sultans lost the match by 5 wickets. That total was never going to be enough at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore where the wicket offers plenty of help for the batters.

Sultans need to learn from their lessons and quickly bounce back. They are up against a bowling attack that has delivered exceptional spells on the same ground where other teams have scored big.

Yasir Khar, Mohammad Rizwan, and Usman Khan will be the key players to watch out for in the top 3. Hope can bring about a major change for the Sultans at number 4.

However, Sultans have to tackle another major issue which is their bowling. They have failed to impress in their last two outings. Mohammad Hasnain and Josh Little will be leading the pace attack for Multan Sultans.

Weather Conditions

It will be a clear day in Lahore with a high of 40 degrees Celsius. The temperature would come down to 32 around the game time with clear skies and no chances of rain for the duration of the match.

QTG vs MS Pitch Report

It is a balanced wicket that offers plenty of help for both batters and bowlers. The average 1st innings score in the last 4 PSL matches here is 158 runs. Though Multan Sultans failed to defend 185 runs in their last match here, we reckon 185 or more is a highly competitive and possibly a match-winning total.

Toss: To Bat

Teams batting first have won 2 of the 4 matches in PSL 2025 at this venue so far. There is no clear advantage to either batting or bowling first on this ground but for both Gladiators and Sultans who’ve been struggling to find consistency, batting first and having runs on the board is a better strategy than chasing a target.
