Both Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United are very well placed at this stage to progress in the 2025 Pakistan Super League and this should be an excellent contest on Wednesday evening.
Lahore come into the match after ending a losing streak of two games when they beat Multan Sultans by five wickets with six balls remaining. That win will have boosted the confidence of the hosts but that will not be enough on its own to beat a team like Islamabad United who have swept all aside on their incredible start to this season.
Islamabad’s last victory also came over Multan Sultans, although they did so with seven wickets and 17 balls to spare, and they have not looked like losing any of their five fixtures so far in this campaign.

Lahore Qalandars Preview
Lahore Qalandars are currently trailing Islamabad United by four points in the 2025 Pakistan Super League table but they have a team who could easily defeat any XI in world cricket in this format.
With the ball, the vastly experienced trio of Shaheen Shah Afrid, Haris Rauf and Tom Curran provide a combination of pace, swing and variety to trouble even the most in-form batters. And that’s before we look at the others in the bowling attack which includes Asif Afridi and two excellent all-rounders in Daryl Mitchell and Sikandar Raza.
Batting wise the team will need to step up in this game after only Mitchell and Raza reached 40 in their win over the Sultans. The likes of Abdullah Shafique and Sam Billings both need to produce the goods if Lahore are to upset Islamabad on Wednesday!
Islamabad United Preview
No matter what has been thrown at Islamabad United during this 2025 Pakistan Super League campaign, they have had the answers with both bat and ball.
In their last game against Multan Sultans, their six-man bowling attack delivered a dismissal for four of the players with Riley Meredith and Jason Holder providing experienced and quality pace options.
Islamabad United also have excellent pace-off bowlers with Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim delivering international quality.
With the bat, Andries Gous hit 80 not out from 45 balls in the last match while Colin Munro continues to deliver with 45 runs from 28 balls. There will be pace on from the Lahore bowlers in this game but those two in particular have the skills to repel them!
