It was a high scoring contest between Australia Masters and Sri Lanka Masters with 339 runs scored in match six in Vadodara on Friday evening.
Three of Sri Lanka Masters’ bowlers kept their economy rates in single figures but Isuru Udana, Dhammika Prasad and Chaturanga de Silva saw runs scored between 11.25 runs per over and 15.33 from a combined 11 overs.
All three will be looking to be more economical in this match although they did all pick up wickets against Australia Masters.
With the bat, Upul Tharanga hit a century and Lahiru Thirimanne made 53 as Sri Lanka Masters got over the line with four balls to spare. Those two, along with opener Kumar Sangakkara will be the key batters for the side in this game.
West Indies Masters Preview
West Indies Masters have not been playing at the top of their game but crucially have still been picking up victories in this year’s International Masters League. They posted 179/6 in their last match which looked a little short but then their bowlers were able to restrict England Masters to 171/8 as they won by a slender margin.
In this game, the opening pair of Dwayne Smith and Chris Gayle will once again be crucial for setting the tone at the top of the order. Between them they put on 77 runs for the first wicket from 7.0 overs against England Masters and we can expect them to come out with an attacking intent once again.
Bowling wise, Fidel Edwards is the only player from the attack who will arrive for this game after going wicketless in the last match. Jerome Taylor, Ravi Rampaul and Sulieman Benn will all be looking to produce a two-wicket haul for the second successive game.
